Rattled by Rocky Boy

A swarming Rocky Boy defense shown here trying to strip

the ball from Chase Fossum kept Glasgow off balance
pretty much the entire game in the first round of the Northern
B Divisional Basketball Tournament being played in Shelby.

Scotties 56-43. It didnt go any better for the rest of the teams
out of the District 2B as it was a 1B clean sweep yesterday.
Good news at the State C Girls Tourney happening in Missoula,
however, the Saco/Whitewater/Hinsdale Panthers upended the
three-time defending state champions, the Huskies of Belt.

BLM Reminds Recreationists about Public Lands Rules

As whispers of spring grow

louder public lands will experience
an increase in activity from
fishermen, floaters, recreational
vehicle users, hikers, campers and
other users.

Americans
of
diverse

backgrounds from a variety of

locations around the country will
be forging lifelong memories while
enjoying their public lands in the
rugged beauty of Montana. Some
people have a longstanding, multigeneration family tradition of

recreating on public lands, others

may be venturing out for the first
time. Knowing the right way to
enjoy BLM Managed lands can
ensure a satisfying experience,
however some users may not know

BLM continued from front

the rules.
The increased activity on public lands during the
spring and summer seasons often leads to increased
incidents of unauthorized off-road vehicle travel,
unattended campfires, camping over established time
limits, littering and other associated resource damage.
Generally, dispersed camping is permitted on
Bureau of Land Management managed public lands that
have not been developed as a campsite. Campers must
have legal access to the campsite. Campers may drive
up to 100 yards off-road to establish their campsite. The
maximum stay in a dispersed site is 16 days. After 16
days the camp site must be relocated at least a half-mile
away from the previous campsite.

In Montana off-road travel for recreational purposes
is prohibited on Bureau of Land Management managed
public lands, unless you are recreating in a specific area
designated as open to off-road motorized vehicle use.
Vehicular use is limited to roads and existing trails. Offroad travel is not legal for shed antler hunting, game
retrieval or any other recreational use on public lands.

Chow times over, now its

time to keep heading north

Area fields will be occasionally filled with Canada geese

as some remain residents while others migrate further
north. Contrary to its normal migration routine, flocks of
Canada geese have established permanent residence in
the northern U.S. and Canada in areas where there is open
water year-round, including the Missouri River below the
power houses. The Great Lakes region maintains a very
large population of Canada geese year-round. Honkers
are among the most commonly hunted waterfowl in North
America. Oh... do you recognize where this photo was
taken? You would if you are taking the Loop.

Friday Funnies

A commercial boasted that its product could help
people live pain-free in their golden years.
Am I in my golden years? a husband, 65, asked
his wife.

Not at all, his wife, 10 years to his younger, assured
him and, after a pause, replied, ... but you are yellowing
fast.

I used to date a hoarder, and she broke up with me.
That stings extra hardIm like the one thing he can get
rid of.

On the first night of their honeymoon, the husband
isnt sure how to tell his bride about his stinky feet and
smelly socks, while the wife is wondering how to break
the news to him about her awful breath, which so far,
shes been able to cover up.
After some soul-searching, the husband gathers
his nerve and says, I have a confession.
She draws closer, peers into his eyes, and says,
Darling, so do I.

Recoiling, he says, Dont tell meyouve eaten my
socks!
