Ms. Johnson,
You are setting a dangerous precedent by prosecuting the protesters that organized the Mall of
America #BlacklivesMatter Rally. You probably think that you're doing the right thing because legal
precedent has ruled that malls are in fact private property. But MOA is a unique case, and you risk
the public's support and subsequent tax base that has sustained the possibility of this
mall. Furthermore, your precedent is dangerous because it values profits over people, and the right
of a business entity to disenfranchise over human rights.
You are also sending a message that the City of Bloomington is not a place that espouses the
fundamental American rights of free speech , right to assembly, anG:I the pursuit of happiness. I, and
many others, will make it clear to our fellow Minnesotans that the City of Bloomington is not a good,
American place to live.play, or work.
I really hope that you discover that you are disappointed with your ,decision. I'm disappointed in
it. And in you. Our saving grace is that the State Attorney Genera1I is Lori Swanson, a people's
advocate, and something like this will not continue under her watclt 1
Disre~ully,
Alex-
