salesandproductiongoalsdependingonthelatestbitofnewshewouldgetaboutchangesintheeconomy.Onedayhewasenthusiasticeconomistswerepredictingstablesteady
consumerconfidence,unemploymentwassteadilydecreasing.Thenextdayheheardhousingstartshaddecreased,homesalesweredecreasing,andmortgagerateswerefluctuating
significantlyfromonelendertothenext.
Healternatedfrombeingupandbeingdown.Hehadconcernsthateconomicconditionsweretoovolatiletherewaslittleconsistencyand,well,thingswerejustnotworkingout
wellatwork.Iaskedifhisemployeesalsohadthatattitude?Hementionedthathismanagersandemployeesdidnotfocusonwhatneededtobedone,andtheyseemedtobe
complainingabouttheuncertaintiesintheeconomyaswell.Asaresult,achievinghisbusinessgoalsandobjectivessuffered.
Iaskedifhehadanydoubtsabouthisownabilitiestoperformconsistently.AtfirsttheanswerwasNo,Imfine.Afterafewmorequestionsanddiscussionheacknowledgedhe
hadsomeselfdoubt.Heindicatedthatinthepastfewyearsastheeconomyhadsloweddown,hehadbecomemoreuncertaininhisdirectionhequestionedthesignificanceofhis
role,andquestionedhisselfworth.Inshort,hislevelofselfawarenesshadtakenabighitanditwasshowingupinhisattitude.

Westartedbyestablishingsolidbusinessgoalsandstrategiesforeachofhisproductsandservicesfortheyear.Hecomparedthesetolastyearsgoalsandstrategiesandwemade
