that these findings arose.
On the other hand, in terms of quality of life, they had poorly sustained the quality
of their life. It was just justifiable that health is the main precursor of quality of life.

quality of life before and after retirement. There was an impact of retirement to both
dependent variables.

Conclusion

In the demographic data, most of the respondents were females which made up
almost 58 % of the sample size.

The research also revealed that most of the senior

citizens were dependent with their family, primarily in their children, in terms of getting
their basic needs; senior citizens were more likely to develop Diabetes. While it was very
alarming that cases like depression, impaired hearing and problems in digestion which
people might think was less priority might increase as time goes by.
They had very poor health maintenance before and after retirement, though;
majority of them thrives harder to improve their health status. They modify their health
maintenance after retirement.
Before retirement, the quality of life among the respondents was satisfactory,
though, it progressed a little after retirement.
In both variables, the researchers decided to accept the hypothesis. It states that
after the investigation and gathering necessary data, the researchers found that there is a
significant difference on health maintenance and quality of life among Senior Citizen of
Trece Martirez City, Cavite before and after retirement.

Recommendations
The findings were very alarmed the researchers, with this reason, the researchers
would like to recommend the following:
1. The senior citizen must be able to know the importance of routinely check-ups,
most importantly those who had chronic illnesses and must be educated on what
attitudes and lifestyle practices must be modified.
2. The senior citizen must be able to cope with retirement.
3. The students will be able to support the elders in this life transition.
4. Parents near the retirement phase must understand the necessary preparations they
must do in order to cope with the transition.
5. The Local Government Unit must be aware of the following findings and must
plan necessary actions to support the Senior Citizens.
6. Future researchers may explore on how the findings on health maintenance and
quality of life increases life expectancy, morbidity and mortality among the aged
group.
