DAILY NUGGETS FOR JOYFUL LIVING

And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he
divided unto them his living... Luke 15:11-32 KJV
THE POWER OF SONSHIP #2
The basis for which a mans prayer is anchored determines the answers he will get. To the younger son in our
text, his prayer was anchored on the premise of sonship. Notice that before he even made his request, he called his
father, Father! The boldness with which his request was made was upon a relationship that exists between a Father
and a son. Anytime a son lacks a cordial relationship with his Father, something is wrong somewhere. Even if you are a
prodigal son, as in the context of this Bible story, you are still a son. Denying the Fatherhood of a son because of his
behavior is not enough to negate the already existed relationship. The younger brother built his confidence to make
his request based on the fact that he was a son. When a prodigal son makes a request to his father, he may receive a
rebuke for being a prodigal son but he will also receive an answer to his request. The fathers heart is never to deny
his prodigal son his request, but to hold on to hope that one day, sanity will return to his son in prodigal state and he
will eventually return home in repentance. That is the manifestation of the power of sonship. Beloved, do you feel like
your relationship with your Heavenly Father is not as cordial as it should be? Is your guilt interfering with your
ability to make a request before Him? Maybe this Scripture in Isaiah 45:4 will help you understand the heart of the
Father, For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed
thee, though thou hast not known me. If the Father has surnamed you, then you are his son, and there is nothing
that will ever negate that fact. Friend, make your request to God, no matter how you fell, He will answer you speedily
since you are a son. You are not a servant, but a son for the servant knoweth not what His Lord doeth: John 15:15.
Now, as a son, you have to know precisely what you want. You have to also know the wealth of the storehouse
of your Father before you make your request. Gods storehouse can never experience anything resembling scarcity.
And in the Fathers heart, He already knows the portion of goods that befalls you. Appealing to the Father
concerning these portions is just a formality; He already knows what is yours for the asking. The right of sonship will
always plead on your behalf such that even if you dont know what to say, the Father will STILL divide His livelihood
to you and your brethren. Truly speaking, God has bound Himself to the power of covenant. Like in yesterdays
article, you are a son under the blood covenant. Beloved, todays thought is held on the ground that the Father will
always grant the request of a son under covenant. What the son does with the portion of the goods allotted to him is
a different discussion entirely. And the Father divided unto them his living. Friend, God answers prayers, you
know, and if you can just let go of the various argument of your heart right now, you will come to know of the power
of answered prayers because the foundation for which this is done is the power of sonship. I still remember a chorus
we used to sing in the eighties; it goes like this, I am a child of God, I am a child of God; no circumstance can alter
my faith, for I am a child of God. The wording of this chorus is so true; for no matter the plan or strategy of Satan
to keep you out of your Fathers house, the door still remains ajar for you since you are a son who is yet to come
inside the house. And until you are inside, the door can never be closed. This knowledge is what will keep you to daily
bask in the joy of Joyful Living experience meant for true sons of the Father, and you are a son indeed. Amen?
