We gather today as Gods beloved children to worship our Heavenly Father.

We praise his
holy name, we listen eagerly for his words of comfort, hope, and challenge to us, and we
offer ourselves to him in dedicated service. May you be blessed as you worship here today.

St. Paul Lutheran Church is a congregation of The Evangelical Lutheran Church in
America (E.L.C.A.). It is referred to as
Borchers since Rev. Henry Borchers, who
served our congregation from 1857-1881,
advised and influenced a small group of
pioneer settlers that wanted to establish a
congregation in the area. This year we
celebrate 162 years of life and ministry in this
beautiful country setting in Southern Indiana.
We look forward to many more years of
growth and change as we seek continually to
be faithful to Gods call to mission.

The Sacrament of Holy Communion is

offered at the 8:00 a.m. services on the 2nd

and 4th Sundays and at the 10:15 a.m. service on the 1st and the 3rd Sundays of the
month. Christians who believe in the true
presence of Christ in the bread and wine for
our forgiveness and salvation are invited to
receive Holy Communion.

Sunday School classes are held each Sunday for all ages at 9:10 a.m. Visitors are
welcome to attend.
HEARING ASSISTANCE: We have

head phones available for those in need of

assistance with hearing. They are located on
the table at the entrance of the sanctuary.
LARGE PRINT BULLETINSThere

are a handful of large print bulletins available. They are located on the table at the entrance of the sanctuary.

begin at 5:30 p.m., a short hymn sing will begin
at 6:50 p.m. and worship will begin at 7:00 p.m.
The theme this year is What It Means to be
Church.
LUTHER LEAGUE SERVING LENTEN MEAL
on Wednesday, March 18. The menu will be

dessert and root beer floats. Youth need to be at
the church by 5:00 p.m. to help with setup and
serving.

Room on Friday, March 20 at 7:00 p.m. This is a
funny, heart-warming film about retirees who get
a surprise as they discover their dream trip isn't
what they'd anticipated. This is not a movie that
would be suitable for most children. Its rated PG13. Bring a friend!

THE CARE TEAM FAMILY CARE FUND was

established in 2010 primarily to help families
within our congregation and immediate community who are in need of emergency monetary assistance due to a crisis situation. We have provided
monetary assistance for basic needs such as
groceries and utilities, as well as transportation
costs involved in visiting family members in major
hospitals. The Family Care Fund is currently depleted! Donations are needed to replenish the
account so funds will be available for future
needs. Please consider contributing by giving
cash or a check to: SPLC Care Team Family
Care. Please direct questions to Pastor or Trish.
BOOK COLLECTION DURING LENTIn the
narthex, you will find collection boxes for gently
used and new books appropriate for reading levels 1st through 7th grade. Books will be donated to
Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Reading Camp, a
week long summer camp devoted to struggling
readers. Books collected will be given to attendees to take home with them after camp, and
used to practice their skills throughout the summer. This is a great opportunity to weed books
from your childs collection he/she may have outgrown! If you have questions about donating
books or about the camp, contact Susie Alstatt at
524.0947.
NEW PHONE DIRECTORIES are located at the
Welcome Center. If there are any corrections to
be made, please contact the church office.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Volunteers are
needed to mow the picnic grove from the months
of May through October. Please sign up the Welcome Center.

minimize foot traffic in church on those days.
Thank you!
BOOK BUZZ will meet on Monday, March 23.

room we will be using that day. The book we will
be discussing is Left Neglected by Lisa Genova.

to Love one another.
You can support the mission of our church by coming to worship, engaging in study, sharing the word, bringing a friend to church, taking part in Care Team initiatives, volunteering

Readings for the Day:

Amos 5:18-24: In the days of Amos people thought that the day
of the Lord would be a time of great victory, but Amos announced
that it would be a day of darkness, not light. He said liturgy is no
substitute for obedience. The Lord demands justice and
righteousness in the community.

1How do you understand this parable?
2What is the major point of the parable?
3 What does it mean that some didnt bring enough oil?
4What does it mean to keep awake?
