A galantine is a French dish of boned stuffed meat,

most commonly poultry or fish, that is poached and served cold,


coated with aspic. Galantines are often stuffed with forcemeat,
and pressed into a cylindrical shape.
Since deboning poultry is difficult and time-consuming,
this is a rather elaborate dish,
which is often lavishly decorated.
A ballotine is a piece of meat, fish, or poultry that has been
boned, stuffed and then rolled and tied into a bundle.
It is then usually poached or braised

While an Italian-American cuisine inspired dish, it is often seen on public scho
ol lunch menus under the name American Chop Suey.
Other names for this dish are Chili-Macaroni, Chili-Mac, Mac 'n Beef or simply M
acaroni. American Chop Suey resembles a dish
known as 'Johnny Marzetti', which was created in the 1920's by the brother of th
e owner of the Marzetti Restaurant in Columbus, Ohio.
In English, the word smrgsbord refers to any buffet
with a variety of dishes.

where the sauce is made: in Europe it is generally slightly
