Prof K P Maity
National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, INDIA
Prof K. P. Maity was born in India on November, 1962. He obtained his B.Sc(Engg.)
degree from University College of Engineering, Burla, Sambalpur University, Odisha. He
obtained his M.Tech(I.O.) and Ph D from Regional Engineering College, Rourkela,
Sambalpur University, Odisha. He is currently acting as Professor and Head, Department
of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, Odisha. He is
having 27 years of teaching and research experience. He has participated in number of
National and International conferences. He has also participated number of continuing
education courses and QIP programmes. He has also conducted two National
Conferences Emerging Trends in Concurrent Engineering and Emerging Trends in
Nano Technology and Innovations in Design and Manufacturing successfully. He has
also conducted a workshop on Nano-Technology. He has also visited number of
countries like United Kingdom, Newsland, Singapore, Sweden, Germany, Australia and
United States of America (USA) for academic work. He is also involved in investigating a
number of R&D projects. He is also supervising a number of research students for Ph D
and M.Tech programmes. The primary research interest is the modelling of machining and
metal deformation problems like extrusion and rolling. The current area of research is
micro-machining. He has received Sir Mukherjee Memorial Gold medal award from the
Institution of Engineers (India) for the best paper award. He has also published a number
of papers in National and International Journals. He is acting as reviewer and editor of
some International Journals. He is a fellow of Institution of Engineers, India (FIE), life
member of Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE), member of Computer Society of
India (CSI) and member of 12M2 (International Micromachining Institution).

Professor Dr. S.Sulaimanwho was born in 1963 is a Professor in the Department of

Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia. His major field is
Manufacturing Engineering especially in Metal Forming such as casting technology and
forging includes simulation/modeling and experimental works. He received his PhD from
University of Wales, United Kingdom in 1992. He had involved various administration
posts and currently as senator of the university. He leads the department in advanced
material research group especially on the metal composite materials. He managed to
supervise more than 20 PhD students and published more than 300 International journal
and conference papers. He received many recognitions from various organizations,
national and international level. Currently he concentrates on processing of new materials
include metal and nonmetal composite products.
