Each summer, Procter & Gamble hires student engineers into R&D to work on challenging projects. These projects are
intended to give you a chance to make a meaningful contribution to the business while enhancing your academic training.
As an R&D Engineering intern, you will be responsible for a key project the minute you walk in the door and experience first
hand the role of a full-time R&D Engineer. In general, R&D Engineers are responsible for inventing, developing and
delivering break through product, process, raw material, and packaging technologies that provide delightful and winning
brand experiences to consumers around the world. R&D Engineers work on cutting edge technologies with multi
disciplinary teams across the Company. Net, our internship program provides you with the opportunity to experience the
real work of R&D and develop technical leadership and deep critical thinking skills, while giving you a strong understanding
of the CPG industry, as well as the P&G culture.
In R&D Engineering, you may have the opportunity to work in any of the following technical fields:
Product Development Engineers provide leadership and expertise to translate consumer needs into effective product
designs and consumer driven innovation strategies. Engineers in this field utilize quantitative and qualitative modeling tools
to define consumer needs and technical requirements necessary to win in the market.
Process Development Engineers lead the design, development and delivery of cutting edge manufacturing systems,
processes and equipment to support P&G's innovation strategy. Engineers in this field will have responsibility for high end
computer modeling, empirical modeling, process/equipment design and start up of breakthrough manufacturing technology
concepts in both experimental and commercial scale.
Material Development Engineers develop 'new to the world' raw material technologies to achieve unmet consumer needs
and P&G manufacturing requirements at target cost and quality on a global, strategic basis. Modeling builds the technical
understanding needed to specify material requirements and drive competitive advantage.

Packaging Development Engineers lead innovative packaging development that provides superior functional performance
and delightful package shelf appearance while supporting environmentally sustainable and/or responsible packages.
Engineers in this field work with 3D digital modeling, material science experts and industrial designers to design and
deliver unique and superior packages.
Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Engineers are needed to lead the development and application of mathematical models
which are required to develop innovative new product and processes. M&S Engineers must be able to work with a team to
define the model requirements and then lead the development and execution of a modeling program which is consistent
with the business challenge, to model new and existing products or processes.
Procter & Gamble generally seeks to hire individuals that are in good standing at their university and field of study. This
typically means people with an overall G.P.A. of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
Successfully candidates will be willing to travel on the job.
At P&G our Internship Program is our largest source for full time hires. Intern/Co-Op sessions are considered temporary
employment, with a predicted ending point. No full-time employment commitments are made; however, depending on
satisfactory completion of certain criteria, candidates may be considered for full-time positions upon graduation. Former
interns receive an outstanding compensation and benefits package upon returning to P&G full time.

Qualifications
Candidates must be working toward the completion of a Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering. Degrees focused in
Chemical, Mechanical, Materials, or Biomedical Engineering are preferred.
