Maluku Province is geographically bordered, on the
North to Maluku Utara Province, on the west to
Provinces Sulawesi Tenggara and Sulawesi Tengah, on
the East to Papua Barat Province and on the South to
Australia and Timor Leste. Maluku Province is an
archipelagic province which covered an area of
712,479.65 km2 , 93.5 % of which are water
(666.139,85 km2) while land area covers only 6.5 %
(46.339,8 km2) of it. A number of 1,340 islands are
already been identified, but only 4 (four) of them are
considered as big islands, n.l. Seram, Buru Yamdena
and Wetar. While the total length of Malukus is 10,630
km.
