Clinical application related with Endodontics.

PULP CAVITY
The p
pulp
p cavity
y is the
cavity in the central
portion of the tooth
containing
the nerves & blood
vessels for the tooth.
It is divided into,
1.PULP CHAMBER (
coronal)
2.PULP (root) CANAL (
root))
|

PULP CHAMBER
| Pulp

chamber is the most occlusal or

incisal portion of the pulp cavity.
There is one pulp chamber in each tooth.
tooth
| PULP HORNS
Each pulp chamber has a roof at its
incisal or occlusal border often with
projections
p
j
reffered as p
pulp
p horns.

ROOT CANALS
Root canals are the
portion of the p
p
pulp
p
cavity located with
in the root(s)
( ) of a
tooth.

APICAL FORAMEN
|Neurovascular

bundle enters
through the apical foramen.

ACCESSORY/LATERAL
CANALS
Minute canals which extends laterally
y
or horizontally most often found in the apical half.
| Large openings terminating in main root canal.
|

DELTA SYSTEM
(APICAL DELTA)
If the root canal break up
p into multiple
p
tiny canals it is refer to as Delta System.

CENTRAL INCISOR
Pulp cavity follows the
outline of crown and
root.

mesiodistally.
| Pulp horns are present
in the incisor region.

LATERAL INCISOR
Same as central
incisor.

Prominent pulp horns.
Pulp chamber is
rhomboidal in shape.
Third molars have
most variable
anatomy.

MANDIBULAR TEETH

CENTRAL INCISOR
One canal but two

Similar as in
maxillary canine.
