and after the German Garrison had surrendered, with addressee´s name slightly erased,
endorsed "No Stamps Available" and, at left, "Togoland Field Force, Atakpame" mailed to
Clapham, London with fine strike of Lome/Togogebiet datestamp in black (7.9) and London
arrival in red (Sept 29). Message reads: "everything has gone alright with us here, have a
lot to tell you when I am more settled...". Extremely rare, Martin & Walton record just one

used example cancelled "NUATJA/TOGO" datestamp in black (5.8.14) with reply half still
attached and cancelled at Anecho (11.8.) and sent on to Atakpame. A rare usage as Nuatja
was still under German control at this date and thus (contrary to Martin & Walton´s book,
page 59), I believe the Nuatja cancellation to be either back-dated or remained ´stuck´on the

4239 1915 (Oct 27): 5 pf. green watermarked postal stationery card, registered example up-rated
with Dahomey 1913 10 c. orange & rose (2) each tied by neat Anecho cds´s with Lome/
Togogebeit cds of receipt (28.10) alongside. An attractive and scarce usage. Signed Bühler

after with near complete run of mint, with covers/cards (84) including 1914 issue frankings,
1916 issue covers both commercial and philatelic, postal stationery mint and used with
interesting taxed cards to Dahomey, a few British period items incl. "Specimen" stationery
etc., also some Italian Postal History with an additional 39 covers/cards. A generally fine

4241 Surcharged 2 fr. orange & brown and 5 fr. violet & blue on registered cover to Bordeaux
tied by Atakpame cds´s (13.11.18) in black; with registered label at lower left and Lome
and London transits on reverse. A fine and scarce cover bearing the two high values (Yvert

4242 1916/25c.: Postcards (27, nearly all different), franked by 39 adhesives from British or
French Togo, all applied to picture side of card with cancels noted of Atakpame, Anecho,
