HOT WORK SAFETY PROCEDURES

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: REPLACE THE ENGINE

Lock out Tag out procedures must be applied before commencing work
Hot work permit should be issued and signed daily.
Safety meeting will be held on location daily, with all personnel involved in the task
Safety man will complete a gas check for H2S, and flammable gases, every day prior to work commencing.
Safety man will monitor for flammable gases, continuously, during hot work.
All areas at work site to be free from oil and flammable materials, rags and chemicals.
All drains at or near to the work site, must be covered during hot work.
No venting of hydrocarbons, sampling or bleeding down systems, will take place during hot work.
A fire extinguisher must be on site, adjacent to the work, at all times during hot work.
Fire watch by Safety and O/Production must be maintained at all times during hot work.
All welding equipment must be maintained in good condition, at safe location, and properly grounded at the
work locations
All workers must wear correct PPE at all times.
Inspect All Lifting Tools And Check For Color Coded

Isolation Procedures :ENGINE = 6 TON , USING CHAIN HOIST 10 TON

Isolate Main Circuit Breaker & Put LOTO

2. Override Fusible Loop. Signal


3. Remove Fusible Loop. Tubes Above The Engine and plugged it
4. Remove the override signal
5. Close the engine isolating Fuel valve & Apply LOTO
6.

Close starting motor Air supply valve & apply LOTO

7. Install Scaffold to Remove Exhaust silencer


8. Remove Exhaust silencer (Hot Work permit Will Be Issued)
9. Remove engine accessories
10. Disconnect the Generator from the Engine

11. Open the required Holes On the upper deck floor over the engine to Weld the required lifting eyes on
the proposed location to suspend 10 ton Chain Hoist
12. Weld a fabricated skid to drag the engine
13. Lift The Engine By Chain Hoist and drag it to loading area
14. Remove hand rail on the front of the up stair ( loading area )
15. Lift The Engine By Boat Crane And set it on the Boat
16. Lift The New engine By Boat Crane And set it on the loading area
17. Drag the new engine and lift it to its skid
18. remove the fabricated skid
19. Assemble the engine accessories and exhaust silencer
20. Assemble the generator to the engine
21. Reconnect the fuel line
22. Override Fusible Loop. Signal & reconnect Fusible Loop. Tubes Above The Engine
23. Remove the override signal
24. Reconnect Power And Control Cables
25.

Remove LOTO Of Main Circuit Breaker & isolating valves To Be Ready For Operation
