The validity date relates to the Type Approval Certificate and not to the approval of equipment/systems installed.
If any person suffers loss or damage which is proved to have been caused by any negligent act or omission of Det Norske Veritas, then Det Norske Veritas shall pay compensation to such
person for his proved direct loss or damage. However, the compensation shall not exceed an amount equal to ten times the fee charged for the service in question, provided that the maximum
compensation shall never exceed USD 2 million. In this provision "Det Norske Veritas" shall mean the Foundation Det Norske Veritas as well as all its subsidiaries, directors, officers,
employees, agents and any other acting on behalf of Det Norske Veritas.

Links for use in Lifting Sets for Offshore Containers certified to DNV 2.7-1 Offshore Containers or Portable Offshore Units
certified according to DNV 2.7-3 Portable Offshore Units.
Detailed product information and range of certified products covered by this Type Approval are listed in Appendix 1 of this Type
Approval Certificate.

Application/Limitation
Selection of the correct dimensions of Lifting Sets and/or Lifting Set Components shall be according to requirements for lifting
sets of offshore containers as given in DNV 2.7-1 Offshore Containers, Chapter 8. The necessary Working Load Limit (WLL) for
a given container rating should be determined according to Table 8-1 in the above mentioned Chapter. In no case should the
WLL of Lifting Sets for Offshore Containers be less than 7.0 tonnes.
Tests to be carried out:
-

Production testing: According to DNV Standard for Certification No. 2.7-1 and EN standard EN 1677-4 "Components
for slings Safety - Part 4; Links, Grade 8 in agreement with the DNV surveyor.
Material to be impact tested by Charpy impact method according to DNV 2.7-1 Offshore Containers, Chapter 8.4.

The manufacturer shall issue product certificates according to Sec. 8.5 in DNV 2.7-1, using the certificate form No. 001. This
certificate form is only to be used for links certified according to this Type Approval.
For slings manufactured according to DNV 2.7-3 Portable Offshore Units
Prior to selection of links the minimum required working load limit (WLL) shall be decided according to the strength
requirements for lifting sets on portable offshore units as given in DNV 2.7-3, Chapter 7.3.5. Resulting sling force (RSF) can be
found in the Design Verification Report (DVR) issued by DNV for the Portable Offshore Unit.

Prototype strength tested according to DNV Standard for Certification No. 2.7-1 and EN1677-4.

Marking of product
Each item to be marked according to EN 1677-1, Components for slings - Safety - Part 1: Forged steel components, Grade 8.

Certificate Retention Survey

In order to maintain the validity of this type approval certificate, retention surveys are to be carried out according to DNV 2.7-1.
Intervals are not to exceed 6 months
