Its fun to know that you enjoyed a lot of the activities that we have sponsored
most especially teaching the kids in the community. Though the situations
were uncomfortable, I admire how you made things look light and fun-filled
such as by taking selfies here and there! More than those, I hope that the
memories of community integration will allow you to remember the important
role of a medical technologist in the community.

You dont want to miss art in everything that you do and that is well
appreciated. What is unforgettable was how you conquered your stage-fright
by leading the talk during the second day. You showed how brave you were in
stepping up to educate the poor and the underprivileged. I hope that your
compassion towards others and your sincerity will continue throughout your
journey as a medical technologist someday.

The way you mentioned how happy the mothers were that we visited is truly
moving. It just showed how big the impact of our visit was.
You are right is saying that talking with people in Bicol has really been difficult.
It was a challenge most of us were able to surpass. I admire the energy you
have shown in leading the team as a host most of the time. You used your
own skills (your talents) to get the attention of other people in order for us to
teach them with the many things they deserve to know. Continue being
passionate to whatever you do and always remember that it will take you to
greater heights someday.

Through your journal, I have known that you are a very compassionate type of
person. The way you were motivated by the looks in the eyes of the children
you served proved such. I admire how you were able to relate the learning you
got in the community with your personal life. It was also moving that the
experience made you appreciate what you have in life and pursue serving
those who are most needy.

I am glad to know that talking to people is not a problem for you.
Communication is a very powerful tool a medical technologist must be
equipped with. In the community, you showed how active you were in
participating in all the endeavours your class has committed with. Your
diligence was also commendable.

You write well! Let me say that first and foremost.
I appreciate the fact that you enjoyed the experience in the community. It
must have been really tiring, but I know that fun made all feelings of
exhaustion dissipate. It only means that service can be fun!

I appreciate how you were able to relate with the circumstances you
encountered in the community. It is always best to know the difference
between empathy and sympathy. Let all your experiences be learning media
for you to become a better person and competent professional someday.

I appreciate how you have included in your journal how you felt on every
stage of the journey you had in the community. I also paid attention to how
you detailed what you were challenged about (i.e. difficulties, etc). You made
mention also of how you were able to do something about them. It just
showed that a leader is a natural part of your individuality. I hope that you will
continue to step-up and create bigger versions of what you have started.

I like it very much that you mentioned how you thought of doing something in
order to resolve several problems you have identified in the community. That
is basically the heart of all the activities you engaged in to learn what to do
after identifying the challenges. It is also important to note that adequate
preparation is always an important component of service. We cannot serve
well if things are done hurriedly. It is best to devote time, no matter how little
it is, to think things well and come up with quality results.

Repeated many times in your journal were your feelings of fulfilment after
each and every day that you spent in the community. This is one clear
manifestation of a natural desire to help improve the plight of the
underprivileged. As a future medical technologist, I hope that you will be able
to find more opportunities to explore within you what you can do to improve
the lives of other people. We should never just stop after we get touched by
other peoples lives. We should always do something.

I hope that the experience you have had with the people in the community
will teach you several important things that you cannot learn inside the
classroom. Some of which are sensitivity and compassion. We may find a lot of
problems but the real challenge is seeking the right solution for each.
