Application deadline March 27, 2015 for Norris-Richards Undergraduate
Summer Research Scholarships
Applications are sought from student/faculty teams at colleges and universities
within the Northeastern Section for the James Flack Norris and Theodore Williams
Richards Undergraduate Summer Scholarships, which promote research
interactions between undergraduate students and faculty. The award consists of a
student stipend of $3000 for a minimum of ten weeks of full-time research work
and $500 for supplies, travel, and other items relevant to the student project. The
undergraduate student must be a chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering,
or molecular biology major in good standing, and have completed at least two full
years of college-level chemistry. For more information, see:

Nomination deadline March 27, 2015 for the
Philip L. Levins Memorial Prize
Nominate a student for the Philip L. Levins Memorial Prize for outstanding
performance by a graduate student on the way to a career in the chemical
sciences. The student's research should be in the area of organic analytical
chemistry and may include other areas of organic analytical chemistry such as
environmental analysis, biochemical analysis, or polymer analysis. Nominations

Nomination deadline April 10, 2015 for the Theodore William Richards
Award for Excellence in Teaching Secondary School Chemistry
This award honors a secondary school teacher in the Northeastern Section who,
through innovation and dedication, has inspired potential chemists, has
communicated chemistry to non-chemists, or has influenced other teachers of
chemistry. The selected teacher will receive a Certificate of Recognition and a

Save the date: YCC 2015 Northeastern Student Chemistry Research
Conference, April 18-19, 2015
The NSCRC is organized for students by students, and is devoted to the research
of undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral chemistry students, providing an
opportunity for students to share their work in a relaxing atmosphere. The 2015
NSCRC will be held Saturday and Sunday, April 18-19, 2015, at Tufts University,
and features Dr. Michael Pollastri, Northeastern University, as the keynote speaker.
