BRIEF HISTORY

In 2000, Target re-launched its brand as Up


& Up to include an expanded product
selection and a new design. The Up & Up
brand offers essential commodities, such as
nail polish remover. Up & Up claims to offer
essential commodities of equal quality to
national brands at a fraction of the cost. Up
& Up carries over 800 product offerings.

BIG IDEA

Up & Up currently has different colors of


nail polish remover. Along with that, it has
different colored packaging specific for
the color of the liquid inside the bottle.
A redesign is necessary to create a
unique label that will appeal to the target
audience more effectively while continuing
the idea of matching the label to the liquid
inside. The unique design is a graphic of a
finger and finger nail. Rather than change
the color of the logo for each bottle, a
design will be made to change the color
of the finger nail to match the nail polish
remover liquid inside. This will appear as
different colors of finger nail polish, and a
great way to make your product stand out.

The current Up & Up logo is boring


and bland. The logo doesnt stand
out. It doesnt portray the product
it is selling effectively and it doesnt
have a specific target audience.
A logo needs to target a specific
audience, be recognizable,
and catch the target markets
attention. Therefore, it is necessary
for a redesign of the Up & Up logo.

The revised Up & Up logo targets


girls and women ages 18-50. This
logo will catch the attention of
the target market. Although Up
& Up doesnt only sell nail polish
remover, the logo will still be
effective with the other products
in this brand. These products
are essential commodities that
are necessities for girls and
women ages 13-50. The new Up
& Up logo is more recognizable,
will catch the target markets
attention, and will effectively
target females ages 13-50.

people look for when the decide on a product.
A logo should be positioned on the product in a
well-thoughtout place and be easily recognized.
