First Day

November 10, 2014

Today is my first day of my OJT. I entered the office and give my

resume to the HR Manager and while Im waiting for my turn for interview, I
look around the office. It has three rooms and the employees look terror.
Well, I hope first impressions not the last. And though it is not a big
company, I wish my OJT will be all right. Anyway, its not on how big the
office that matters, its on what I will learn.
Since I am a financial management major, I am designated to the
department of finance under Ms. Quiones, the finance manager. The first
task that was assigned to me is cash disbursement. It lasted three hours which
means it is the only task I did on the first half of the day. On the afternoon, I
was tasked to compute and encode the last payroll of resigned employees of
the agency and it is very overwhelming to know that I was taught by the
finance manager to compute the last payroll first before their accounting
staff. Afterwards, Ms. Doa took me to PS Bank to deposit in their account.
My first day was very stressful but it was amazing to realize that it is
not a quiz and exam but a reality wherein I have to do it perfectly.

First Week

On my first week in the office, the task assigned to me was purely on

finance. On the second day, I was task to make entries of the employees
payroll and clients billing. With this, I realized that making entries are not
really that complicated. On the third day, I computed and encoded the
employees salary deduction. On the fourth day, I was taught to compute the
billing of their clients. And on fifth day, I was taught to compute their almost
ninety employees salary. I also did the filing of voucher and request for
payment.
In the office, we are working until Saturday but on our first Saturday,
we went to Intercontinental Hotel to attend the Manulife Career Orientation.
And of course we wear our best dress. Job experience is already exciting as it
is but attending in an orientation with lots of professionals in Manila is more
than exciting.

Second Month

What happened on the second moth is the same as the first month but
what makes it special is because the general manager asks me personally to
reimburse her expenses and make solicitation letter for the Christmas Party.
Also, I was now allowed to create and send email to the client companies.
Also I was tasked by the HR manager to prepare and file the 201 record of
the newly hired employees.
Since it was December, I was also taught to compute the 13 th month
pay of the employees wherein by the time is more than ninety in number. Still
my usual task is the computation and preparing of billing and payroll.
Updating of Cash Disbursement Book, Sales Book and Cash Receipt Book
were also included in the duties I accomplished.

Acknowledgement
As they said, No man is an Island, the success of my OJT is not
possible without the help and support of the people around me.
Before anyone else I would like to give my sincere gratitude to my
parents who trust and allow me to take my OJT in Cavite, and for supporting
me morally and financially.
Second to our Dean, Ms. Lucia M. Medul for allowing me to go there
even though it is too far. And for always reminding me to be good and smart
for I carry the name of our school.
Of course, I would like to thank the FBK family, especially my trainor
Ms. Sharon Quiones and Ms. Diana Doa for teaching and improving my
knowledge and skills. The General Manager, Ms. Baby Lyn Reburiano for
trusting me and my ability. And the HR Manager for showing me and
allowing me to experience the kind of job they are doing.
And last but not the least, my deepest gratitude to the God for guiding
me every day while I am far from my loved ones and for providing all my
needs especially wisdom.
