The EMERALD STAR NEWS Inc.

The Wolfes Den

Hello everybody out there. I want to Thank you for showing
support for this newspaper by reading it. Just having all the
business and regular folks see you with this newspaper, see
its FREE, and want to know how? We live in FREE-PORT, I felt the
news travels more widely and often by offering the newspaper for FREE. We have many
small businesses that I leave several extras for you to read while you frequent our shops
and businesses that advertise with us...We have hundreds being picked up weekly at a
good pace just at Gas stations alone. All 2500 are gone as I replenty..thats great!!!
There are a couple great deals coupon for LUNCH, I recommend them, both are delicious and worth the price. Tear out the coupon and give them a try, thats why they
posted it. Good people, good food, from a FREE newspaper. Win=Win . Welcome to
FREEPORT, if that doesnt say it. Hopefully we will have a beautiful big sign made between Post Office and Hwy. 20. That says WELCOME to FREEPORT. Floridas gem
before the Bay? Small town with Big City dreams? What would be the slogan you think
that would be best? To make that turn down Hwy 20 for a half hour and grab a bite to eat
or shop? How many of you know exactly where the Biophilia Center is? No signs as a
point of interest, with me printing what I can for them. How does anyone know of this
unique center? Go check it out, its like our own Zoo..lol. Interesting stuff by far.
Anyway, I hear a lot of things, that people talking and try to degrade Freeport. I know
I lived here long enough to now to defend this place. I represent it every other week for
the other 1000s of you who just sit at home, complain about this or that. But never raise
your voice or stand up at a meeting. Folks, Ive dealt with them all, long enough to tell
you that I know they are HUMAN. They make mistakes. They have problem admitting
them, but they do. It is up to us the public, to be nosey, if it were, to how our tax money
is being spent? Is it doing us justice to hire more cops, yet dont jump in these kids ass
about grades, respect, punishment for your crime, consequences for touching that girl
wrong, how to be respectful to others, how to deal with a racial confrontations?
I know many of you parents who would rather go to a friends, than sit and discuss reality with your children. Know what they are into at all times. I know of several girls still in
school who have had a baby. The number of home schooling is risen due to the convenience for the parent, or even the safety of the child. They get harassed for being poor,
same clothes, shoes, whatever. Bullies need to be faced, once beaten they stop.
Im afraid at what I see with the youth of today and the ones for our future. I see so
much interaction, fake love signs on FB, Hugs and kisses everyone says. Yet when I see
them interact face to face? its just not the same type of conversations. Parents, listen in
on your kids talking, its interesting for me to see what they think about and talk about,
just hanging out. For your own sake, see what your kids are doing! Is ISIS luring them?
Seriously, drugs? Sex? School, after school? Late night, sneakin out? Then what?
So, as I enter into my own parental period of High school coming to a close. I see
more into the future of what I feel definitely needs addressed. But when we as civilians
only get to complain or vote to our political representatives. What else can you do?
REALLY? Got an idea to share? Write me, lets discuss things. Id like to hear from more
of you, tell me where your head is, Id like to know. You hear mine so much. Lol. I sincerely appreciate all of you who have written me and chatted over FB these last couple
years. It really has been fun to meet you ,without really shaking your hand, thats part of
this internet connection between people. Great minds think alike.
I have met plenty of you nice folks, from hanging your ceiling fan or building you a
deck. Even met a few celebrates, needing help with an install or repair. Im not talking in
south Walton, Im talking here in Freeport! We have a strong select of people around us,
that shows me that Freeport is on the verge of taking steps to be more formidable, respectful and those who have been crooked in past dealings will someday pay retribution
for the damages caused to this little town. A lot of past shady dealings, the more I dig, the
more I find. People send me stuff daily. I got over 300 E-mails alone just last week.
I will say I do my best to answer them all. From good to bad, this newspaper makes me
proud to hear so many older folks who look forward to each edition I print. Again, I thank
you. It makes it all feel worth it. Send in interesting stuff to share anytime.
Hey before I forget! You know I gotta beef, somewhere. What is this about trashing
our beaches? I mean literally trash, garbage? Do we not have enough dumpsters for them
or is it as I see. Just drunk fools, mostly at age or under, letting loose, getting high, drinking it up...thats fine. But when you Assholes dont pick-up your trash, I gotta problem with that. I moved here to be close to the rarity, the beauty of it all.
OK, once again, I feel enforcement of littering is slacking or under-staffed to ticket or
arrest these punks, who trash our slice of heaven? Ok, Ms, Commissioner or TDC. I have
a question, we need some jobs to clean up after these pigs. No dogs= no dogshit. Right
or not? Tell me. Use TDC funds to prevent trashing our beaches, worthy cause?
If the sheriff wont deputize some of us to patrol, to write tix, or even call-in back-up.
Are we not going to protect what has been saved so nicely for us? Is it worth what the
visitors spend, worth someone to ensure the beach is clean when they leave? Hire about
10 veterans you can trust, even only $10/hr. Many would offer to do it. Well? Sheriff?

Special Thanks to our advertisers, show support.

Its never too late to get involved. As a society we will gather in time of need
for others, that is what community is all about. Enforce property lines..
Just as we saw abuse from our government officials all over our nation, watch
where your tax dollars are going and see how it is being spent. If you dont
agree with it, go to a meeting and speak up.lets work together!
Changes only come when enough people call to order of descent standards for
which we all can live by. Therefore there are Laws / rules to follow or be jailed.
**If it isnt on your property it is on someone elses.county, then state. Keep
you and your stuff on your own property line with setbacks properly integrated.
Or else we all can grandfather anything, wrong! Stop the crap. We want to be
proud of our surroundings. Lets weed out the problem, deal with it, head on!

Wrote in by a fan.
Hi, kids call me "Big Momma". I want
to tell you about my story. I fell in love
and listened to my heart and not my
head. Now I have something that one
day will make me dead, it's Aids, yes
Aids. Now start thinking with your head
and not with your heart.
Start taking precautions before you
decide to start. Yeah wrap that thing up,
yeah wrap that thing up. Or you will be
having a cocktail, not the kind that
makes you drunk, but the one that makes
you sick, yeah real quick.
Now I have to think about just how
much time I have left before I will be
dead. I have so many things I want to do,
just don't know if I will have the time.
Why did I have to be so blind. If you
don't want to have to ask yourself these
questions, then be smart and wrap that
thing up right from the start. Some may
say it don't feel the same, its better to be
smart and ahead of the game. In the end
it comes to one thing and that's life and
death.
Choose life so your not one day sitting
alone asking yourself why. Now days
seem to go by fast when you want them
to last. So please hear my voice and
make the right choice. I am writing this
because I want to make a difference.
Telling and trying to reach as many people as I can. Because making the wrong
choice only shortens your time with your
loved ones. Sometimes that decision will
make you dead.
That story sounds so familiar. How
many of you truly protect yourself?
Every time? Trust me Ive lost a few
friends I once knew too. It was from just
one night. One night of partying, letting
loose, bad day..whatever.
The moment you lay down, you may
not have your mind right and looking out
for yourself. STOP this non-sense!
Kids find something else to do with
your time. Please, dont just waste away
trying to bring another unwanted child
into this world of ours. Yes, I said ours,
for every tax payer will be a part of that
babys life. To help when you cant, get
food, when you cant.
Stop placing the burden on your elders,
they may not be able to truly handle your
bundle of joy.
Too many young girls I meet already
have at least one child. Some have different dads for different kids? Come on,
use your brain and wrap that thang!!
Girls, be smart. You know when game
is being played, dont just act like it
wont happen to me. Look around you,
its not just a fad having a child.
So many unwanted people out there as
is. Need a friend? Talk to a homeless
person for a bit. Youll get the picture.

FDOT Seeks Help Celebrating 100th

If you live in or have ever been in Florida,
you almost certainly have used the states

your connection to the states highways. The
Florida Department of Transportation
(FDOT) is seeking help from the public willing to share memorabilia, photographs and
artifacts from the past in an effort to showcase the history of the department as part of
its 100 year anniversary.
FDOT is looking for maps, manuals, equipment, photographs or other documents related to state transportation projects in Northwest Florida between the 1910s and the present. The department will showcase the
memorabilia at the FDOT District Three
Headquarters in Chipley. Historical memorabilia can be delivered to Greg Vickery at the

The State Road Department, the precursor to

Frank did not take us to court. You just ask us

Yes, we no longer let Frank come to our gettogethers, he knows why. If you want to know just

I give away candy from my Van. I like to see happy

Now, if you are going to write in about us, leave a

Betty Ann Thompson
To answer in response to this letter. I spoke with
the individual who chose to elect NOT to leave their
name. Get it right, that is their legal right, like any
other person in the USA.
Exactly, he doesnt want to talk to you about what
he knows already. Your club is a joke to say it
represents Freeport. Just last year, didnt the Mayor
ask you all for $10 entry? You all threatened to
pack-up? This was at Bayfest, promoting Freeport.
I was there, I heard it, I saw it.
BTW next time I find chocolate on my vehicle
and I now know it came from you. I will file report
with law enforcement against you for damages.
Also whats funny, is that I was with Frank when
he and that his girlfriend gets so close with yall,
that when he was there at Hammock Bay, you call
him to not show up for she (his ex=no car) wants to
show up. So, who done who wrong? Obviously one
of the boys, who couldnt stay out of their personal
business? that you say youd rather him not be
around you? Where is the troubled bytch now?
Dont worry, I make sure the truth is known
about your ways and your no-club selfishness. To
everyone I meet who asks about your club.
Here is my name. Dont bother me with your petty
crap. Car people look out for each other, not diss
them when a divorce or dispute arises in ones personal life. Unlike what you people did to Frank.
The one that was getting the most attention, gave
you the most promotion? Rid him? No friendship!
Tom W. Rayburn and friends
Hi, this Frank. The Editor.
Betty-Ann you are wrong. I never brought the
club into a court discussion. The troubled woman
(my ex) did. I only expected to be able to promote the club with my noticeable ride. You can
tell from all your actions, you are not sincere with
anyone you dont already know. So, how about
you tell ME why I was not let to attend a meeting?
You think you know more than me? I have court
documents proving what I know is FACT, ask?
We appreciate our readers. Dont forget to let them
know you saw their Ad here in The Emerald Star

Muslim Congressman
Caught Financing JIHAD
Rep. Keith Ellison, known for defending the Islamic State group against allegations of being
Islamic, just decided to upgrade himself from
a mere jihad apologist to a full-fledged jihad lobbyist.
He did so by travelling to the terrorist-ridden nation of Somalia to help some terror-sympathizing
constituents in Minnesota funnel money right into
the hands of wait for it radical Islamic terrorists. These transfers of money are allegedly
designed to help American Somalis support their
friends and family members back home. More
often than not, however, the money winds up in
the hands of the jihadists.
I told my constituency I would come here and
work for the United States and Somalia relationship, and I am doing that in todays visit, Ellison
announced at a news conference in Mogadishu.
Yet logic suggests that helping American Somalis
indirectly fund terror does nothing whatsoever to
aid that relationship. If anything, it puts the Somali government, which battles daily with militants from the Al-Shabaab jihadist group, in an
even more precarious position.
It also does nothing to help the Minnesota legislators own country in its bid to wipe out Islamic
terrorism. But that Ellison would try to spin what
hes really doing should be no shocker, given his
past actions.
In 2008, for instance, Ellison accepted a $13,350
donation from the Muslim American Society,
which according to Steven Emerson, director of
the Investigative Project on Terrorism, is the de
facto arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in the
U.S. (H/T Jihad Watch)
It should be as clear as day to everyone that the
Democrat congressman aligns himself much more
closely with radical Islamic ideology than he does
with good old-fashioned American values.
This raises a question: Why is this man in
Congress, when he ought to be in prison?

2 Surprising Senators Just Defied Obama

AND the United Nations With Bold Move
Were happy to report breaking, extremely rare news happening in Washington
D.C. two Republican senators who arent exactly known for bucking the Obama
administration are actually doing their jobs and laying down heavy threats should the
president bypass Congress on a nuclear deal with Iran and the formation of a Palestinian state in Israel.
Arizona Sen. John McCain and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham both recently
relayed their disgust with the Obama administration considering going through the
United Nations to get a nuclear deal on the table with Iran and push a resolution for
the creation of a Palestinian state while bypassing their own Congress. Both senators,
in a nutshell, called for defunding the U.N. should the Obama administration actually
proceed with their plan and kicking our greatest ally, Israel, to the curb in the process.
Heres what the president needs to understand. If you go to the UN Security Council and you try to bypass the Congress to get this deal approved by the UN Security
Council, but not come to your own Congress, then youre going to risk Congress cutting off money to the United Nations, Graham said.
Thats very strong language coming from a man who isnt known for it, hence his
lack of popularity among conservatives.
The US Congress should reconsider funding for the United Nations if the Security
Council approves a resolution on Palestinian statehood, McCain said
Though he certainly didnt have to extend an olive branch to the Obama administration, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did exactly that after he was elected
for his fourth term as PM, yet the administration threatened to reassess their relationship with Israel.
Leave it to Obama to demolish a long-standing friendship with our greatest and
only real ally in the Middle East.
Itll be interesting to see if Obama takes the threats seriously, given who they came
from. When establishment Republicans turn on the president, thats a pretty clear sign
that things are getting bad.

No matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing,
the dream that you wish will come
true.
-Cinderella
I usually try to keep the topic light and
the mood positive in these columns but
this has been a tough week for my family. My niece, who is only 19 years old, was diagnosed with cancer yesterday. Needless to say, my family is devastated and trying to understand where to go from here and how to go about
doing what needs to be done. One of the main problems, of
course, is money. While my brother does have insurance, the
cost of brain surgery and future treatments is barely covered.
Being in Florida, I was feeling helpless. I decided, with my
nieces permission, to begin a GoFund Me campaign to help with
medical costs. I posted the account and within an hour had donations from people I went to high school with and distant relativespeople who have never met my niece but found it in their
hearts to give. I cannot tell you what an eye-opening, mind boggling experience this has been. It made me realize how truly
good people really are and how unselfish people can be when
times are tough. If you turn on the news or look at social media,
you may begin to forget how good people areyou may have
forgotten that our country is giving and kind. I know I did. I took
my son to see Cinderella, against his will, and her advice was,
You must always have courage and be kind. As simple as that
sounds, imagine if more people followed that phrase. I know my
niece, Mackenna, has shown me what true courage is throughout
these past few days. Her strength and courage make Arnold
Schwarzenegger look small. Try being kind today and find courage to do the things you thought you couldnt face. If you need
help, askpeople may surprise you.

Healthmark Health Matters

Growing healthy children
Nutrition and fitness are the cornerstones of children's health. To give your child a head
start on lifelong fitness, encourage children's sports and other kid-friendly physical activities. To spark your child's interest, suggest physical activities not exercise and join
in as often as you can.
According to doctors and researchers at the Mayo Clinic, parents can also promote children's health by encouraging children to eat a variety of healthy foods and control portion
sizes. We should learn what kinds of food they need and in what amounts.
Of course, every child grows and develops at his or her own pace. Still, child development tends to follow a fairly predictable path. There are language, social, cognitive and
physical milestones to expect from ages 2 to 5.
At age 2, your child might speak about 50 words and be able to link two words together,
such as "my cup" or "no juice," clearly enough for parents to understand some of the
words. They begin to show more independence, copy others and get excited when around
other children, but they can also become more defiant. They may be playing simple makebelieve games and begin to sort objects by shape and color. Two-year olds also climb on
furniture and learn to run.
At age 3, a child may be speaking 250 to 500 or more words, speaking in longer sentences and correctly use pronouns (I, you, me, mine). They should be able to state their
first name and speak clearly enough for strangers to understand. They express affection
openly, but get upset with major changes in routine.
At age 4, a child should be able to answer simple questions, talk about likes and dislikes,
cooperate with other children, understand the idea of counting and start to understand
time.
By age 5, most children understand rhyming and are using sentences that give many
details. They usually want to be just like their friends. They understand gender and often
like to sing, act or dance. They can usually count to 10 or more. They hop, skip, swing and
do somersaults, dress and use the toilet on their own. They can also learn to swim.
If your child's development seems to be lagging behind in certain areas, contact Larry
Rafey, P.A., or visit Healthmark's Walk-In Clinic at 4413 US 331S, across from the Medical Center, or call 951-4500.
