Godliness with Contentment

At college graduation, not much contentment, thankfulness—fulness of bread. Not learning to love
neighbor as self.

Proverb 30:8,9 “Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with
food convenient for me: Lest I be full, and deny [thee], and say, Who [is] Yahveh? or lest I be poor, and
steal, and take the name of my Elohiym [in vain].”
Godliness with contentment is great gain. (1 Timothy 6:6)
Who is really seeking after this? Surely only the saints of Yahveh.

Job 21:13-15 “They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave. Therefore they say
unto Elohiym, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways. What [is] the Almighty, that
we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?”
They cannot see the profit of spiritual things, of prayer.

Ezekiel 16:49,50 “Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance
of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw
[good].”
There are many Sodomites. May He help us to find godliness with contentment. Thankfulness in heart
brings contentment. Greatest blessing of all: abundance of peace, abundance of truth. Be about His
business, be free from cares (What are we going to eat? Put on…?) Be quickened to what our heart is
going after. It is a blessing to be poor. Put things in perspective: See what things people are going after.

Ecclesiastes 5:10-13 “He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance
with increase: this [is] also vanity. When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good
[is there] to the owners thereof, saving the beholding [of them] with their eyes? The sleep of a labouring
man [is] sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep.
There is a sore evil [which] I have seen under the sun, [namely], riches kept for the owners thereof to their
hurt.”

Why set your eyes on that which is not? (Proverb 23:5)

Life consisteth not in the abundance of things which he possesseth. (Luke 12:15)
It is the Spirit that gives life. (John 6:63)
Yeshua came that we might have life, and that we might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)
(“My soul followeth hard after thee …” Psalm 63:8)

(This brother going after the right thing.)
