HOMECOMING COURT APPLICATION

The goal of this competition is to recognize students who embody the UC Riverside
Highlander Spirit. Candidates must be well rounded, and represent UCR’s diversity to the
best of the their abilities. Two Senior candidates will be chosen to be crowned King and
Queen, and four under classmates will be crowned princesses and princes.

Please answer the following questions in short essays of no more than 250 words
each, doubled-spaced, on a separate sheet of paper: Pick 2

1. Explain a time or an experience you have had here at UCR that made you proud
to be a Highlander.
2. What unique contributions have you made to the UCR Community?
3. Who are you? How would you describe yourself?

Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Applications are due by 6:30 pm at the
ASUCR Office Front Desk, 2nd floor of the HUB, Room 202, on Friday, February 5th,
2010. A mandatory meeting will take place for Homecoming finalists. For further

General Eligibility

• King and Queen Candidates must be Graduating Seniors in good standing (Grad
Date- Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall ‘10)
• Prince and Princess Candidates must be Freshmen, Sophomores or Juniors in
good standing
• Must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA
• May be endorsed by a registered campus organization (Optional)
• ASUCR Senators/Officers are ineligible.
• Must meet the application deadline. No exceptions shall be made
Homecoming Court Requirements

• Candidates will be notified on Monday 2/8/10 via email. Candidates must attend a
Mandatory Meeting in the ASUCR Office (TBA). Topics will include
Homecoming Week Events.
• Please send a representative if you are unable to attend. Failure to do so will result
in immediate disqualification.
• Candidates must be able to attend Noon-time events/programs during
Homecoming Week: Finalists must be able to attend Game Day activities on
Saturday February 13th.
