ORDER OF SERVICE

PRELUDE: Preparation/Individual Silent Prayer

CALL TO WORSHIP: John 11:25-26
I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were
dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never
die. Let us rejoice in glorious hope for Christ the Lord is risen!
UNISON READING: 1 Corinthians 15:12-22
Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among
you that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there be no resurrection
of the dead, then is Christ not risen: And if Christ be not risen, then is our
preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. Yea, and we are found false
witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ:
whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. For if the dead rise
not, then is not Christ raised: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain;
ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are
perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most
miserable.
But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them
that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection
of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
HYMN: Low in the Grave He Lay
Low in the grave He lay, Jesus my Savior,
Waiting the coming day, Jesus my Lord!

^Up from the grave He arose,

With a mighty triumph oer His foes,
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever, with His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Vainly they watch His bed, Jesus my Savior;

Vainly they seal the dead, Jesus my Lord!^

Death cannot keep its Prey, Jesus my Savior;

He tore the bars away, Jesus my Lord!^
OPENING PRAYER
HYMN: He Lives
I serve a risen Savior Hes in the world today.
I know that He is living, Whatever men may say.
I see His hand of mercy; I hear His voice of cheer;
And just the time I need Him Hes always near.^
^ He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me along lifes narrow way.
He lives, He lives, salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart.
In all the world around me I see His loving care,
And though my heart grows weary, I never will despair;
I know that He is leading, through all the stormy blast;
The day of His appearing will come at last. ^

Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian, Lift up your voice and sing

Eternal hallelujahs To Jesus Christ the King!
The Hope of all who seek Him, the Help of all who find,
None other is so loving, So good and kind.^

CLOSING HYMN: Because He Lives
God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus;
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!
Chorus: Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!
How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives;
But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!^

HYMN OF PREPARATION: As We Gather at Your Table
(Tune: Come The Fount of Every Blessing)

As we gather at your table, as we listen to your word,

Help us know, O God, your presence; let our hearts and minds be stirred.
Nourish us with sacred story till we claim it as our own;
Teach us through this holy banquet how to make Love's victory known.
