Introduction
Once your Tax School marketing is underway, you will need to follow up
with individuals that express interest in attending your Tax School.
Entice students to register by inviting them to a Free Information
Seminar at your Tax School location where they can meet the instructor,
ask questions, view the Tax School materials, and meet other potential
students.
A Free Information Seminar Toolkit is available on the Operate Your Tax
School page of the Learning Center. The toolkit includes a Rollout
Guide, PowerPoint presentation, confirmation letter, follow-up letter, and
more.
A quick telephone call can be the best approach to connecting with
potential students and securing their participation in this special event.
This manual provides call scripts that can be used to:

Invite individuals to a Free Information Seminar Mail or

e-mail an invitation to all leads, then follow-up with a phone
call using the invitation script provided in this section.

Confirm attendance at a Free Information Seminar Call

to secure confirmation of attendance from individuals who
have expressed interest in attending the Free Information
Seminar but have not confirmed the date and time they will
attend.

Encourage registration after attending a Free Information

Seminar Follow-up with individuals who attended a Free
Information Seminar but did not register for Tax School and
encourage them to enroll in the course.

The scripts provided in this manual are designed to make discussions

with inquiries easier and more persuasive. The scripts provide simpleto-follow guidance that will help you register inquiries for Free
Information Seminars and your Tax Schools.

What is a Free Information Seminar?

In the months leading up to the start of your Tax School classes, you
should plan to hold weekly Free Information Seminars. These structured
events take place in your office to give unregistered leads a taste of the
Tax School experience. Attendees can meet the instructor, ask
questions, view the Tax School materials, and meet other potential
students.
The personalized attention you can give Tax School leads at a Free
Information Seminar gives you the opportunity to impress these
prospective students and encourage them to register for your Tax
School. The Free Information Seminar should wow attendees with

your professionalism, the classroom set-up, and the Jackson Hewitt

course materials, as well as provide them with a look at the online
course and a short presentation of tax information they may not already
know. In addition, with the new Registered Tax Return Preparer (RTRP)
initiative, promote the benefits of the Basic Income Tax Course in
helping interested students prepare for the RTRP Competency Test, as
well as to earn continuing education (CE) credit to help meet the annual
IRS CE requirement. The goal is to get attendees excited about learning
tax preparation and how Jackson Hewitt Tax School will benefit them so
you can secure their registrations.
A Free Information Seminar Toolkit is available on the Learning Center.
To access the Toolkit, click Free Information Seminar on the Operate
Your Tax School Page of the Learning Center. The toolkit includes

invitations, confirmation letters, recorded presentations, PowerPoint

presentations, attendance sheets, follow-up letters, and more.
