control at its heart, four innovative struts work independently for the

The 7-speed automatic transmission benefits from a lot more than a high number of gears. Excellent drive comfort,
agility and efficiency are equally important.The seven forward gears allow for ideally spaced ratios with low rev intervals
between shifts. This makes for incredibly swift and smooth gear changes as well as noticeably lower fuel consumption.
In kickdown, 7G-Tronic Plus can also skip individual gears for a more powerful and rapid response.Youcan use
individual transmission modes by choosing one of the Agility Select driving modes, while gear shift paddles on the
steering wheel allow you to change gear with a flick of your finger almost like a racing driver.

A question of stance, and the answer.

Tap the Agility Select switch and you can tailor the drive of your C-Class to suit your mood. There are five
driving modes to choose from: Comfort, Eco, Sport, Sport+ and Individual. The engine and transmission
responsiveness will be adjusted to suit the chosen driving mode, and in conjunction with the AirMATIC
Agility Package, the suspension is also adjusted to ensure the entire car is in tune with your desired driving
style. You can also choose your individual programme in Individual mode.

Agility Control comfort suspension (standard on the SE). This suspension with
a selective passive damping system continuously adapts shock absorption to suit
the driving situation. For example, when cornering on winding country roads,
damping becomes firmer to maximise stability. During normal driving, suspension

What driving a Mercedes really means.

We have developed a comprehensive approach to maximising safety in every road situation to help avoid accidents,
to improve response to danger and to minimise the consequences for the occupants of a Mercedes and other road
users alike.
SAFE DRIVING
Particularly beneficial on long journeys and during nighttime driving, Attention Assist (standard on the C-Class)
detects fatigue.The system monitors the drivers steering
behaviour and recognises typical signs of drowsiness and
severe lapses of concentration. It then gives a visual and
audible warning of impending micro-sleep.
Lane-Keeping Assist detects when the driver leaves the
lane unintentionally, warns with pulsating steering wheel
vibrations.
Blind Spot Assist helps to minimise the risks of a very
common danger by warning the driver when changing
lanes.
Lane-Keeping Assist and Blind Spot Assist are part of the
optional Driving Assistance Package.
When Collision Prevention Assist (standard on the

C-Class) detects an insufficient distance between the
car and the vehicle or a stationary obstacle in front,
it alerts the driver with a visual warning when the gap
continues to close. Ifa collision seems imminent, it can
assist with braking or, if the driver fails to respond to
alerts, it can reduce the speed autonomously.
PROTECTION IN AN ACCIDENT
In a frontal collision, the Active Bonnet is raised auto

matically to create a greater distance to the engine block,
offering an enlarged crumple zone and, as a result, more
protection to pedestrians orcyclists.
POST-ACCIDENT
Every Mercedes-Benz is perfectly trained in first aid. In

the event of an accident, a range of measures comes into
action to assist the occupants.These include automatic
engine cut-off, self-activating hazard lights and emergency
cabin illumination.The central locking system can be
released, and the Mercedes-Benz emergency call system
(part of the optional COMAND Online system) can transmit
important vehicle information to the emergency services,
should this ever berequired.

Thanks to its large glass surfaces, the optional panoramic
glass sunroof creates a bright and inviting atmosphere.
Itconsists of a fixed panoramic glass section at the rear
and an electrically operated sliding glass section at
thefront.Two electric sun blinds protect against strong
sunlight. In the raised position, the glass roof automatically
adjusts to three tilt positions to suit the current vehicle
speed. At high speeds, the glass roof is lowered to reduce
noise level and air circulation in the interior. At low speeds,
it raises itself again to let in fresh air.

naturally ensure that your vehicle is taken to the nearest

Cover is initially valid for your vehicle for four years from the date of first registration. This can

Take-back of end-of-life vehicles. Coming full circle. At the end of its long life, you can return your C-Class to us for environment-friendly
disposal in accordance with the EC End-of-Life Vehicle Directive. But that day lies a long way off.
Applies in accordance with national regulations to vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes permissible gross weight. The C-Class has met the statutory regulations governing the suitability
of the vehicles design for reuse and recycling for a number of years now. A network of vehicle take-back depots and dismantlers has been established which will
process your vehicle in an environment-friendly manner. The ways in which both vehicles and parts can be recovered are subject to ongoing development and improvement.
Consequently, the C-Class will be able to comply with any future increases in the recycling quota within the stipulated time limits. Further information is available at
