Preparing students of Std III to read and write English

?
In Std III we teach students to read simple 3 letter words like bag, met, hen, sit,

fox, hut.
?
We now start to teach students the idea of sentences. We teach them the basic rules

of writing sentences : the first letter is capital, there is space between words and
there is a full stop in the end.
?
We also introduce high frequency words or sight words. These are words that do

not follow phonetic rules but have to be learnt with practice only.
?
With the help of Reading Cards and Exercises in this Workbook students learn to

read and write short, simple sentences.

?
Pictures help students to make meaning of the words that they read and

understand what they are writing.
