Uses:

To correct micronutrient deficiency or imbalance in a wide

range of agricultural and horticultural crops

Rates:

36 x 2 x 10 litres
4 x 200 litres
1 x 1000 litre (IBC)

Introduction:

Boron is an essential micronutrient for regulating plant cell

water balance and sugar translocation. It is also of importance
in reproductive systems, ensuring healthy pollen development.
Deficiency can adversely affect most crops, including
vegetables, brassicas, root crops, horticultural crops and oilseed
rape, impairing growth, yield and quality.

Formulation:

Headland Boron 15% contains 150 g/l of boron soluble in water

as the ethanolamine. It is rapidly taken up by the plant when
applied to foliage and contains a surfactant and wetter system
to ensure efficient retention by the leaf.

Rates of Use:

Marginal deficiency: 1.25 l/ha in at least 200 l/ha water

Moderate deficiency: 2.5 l/ha in at least 200 l/ha water
Severe deficiency:
2.5 l/ha in at least 200 l/ha water
followed by a further application 3 4
weeks later and again if symptoms reappear.
Note: a crops nutrient status can only be determined accurately
by tissue analysis. Headland recommends that tissue analysis
results are used whenever possible to optimise micronutrient
applications.

Timing of
Application:

Headland Boron 15% can be applied to crops whenever a boron

deficiency is observed or expected but after the 3-leaf stage, or
when there is sufficient foliage present to absorb the spray.
Best results will be obtained when Headland Boron 15% is
applied during the early morning or evening when moisture is
present in the plant. Do not apply in extremes of temperature,

very bright sunlight or when the crop is under drought or other

stress.
The use of Headland Guard 2000 at 0.1% v/v is recommended
to improve spray retention and rainfastness. Contact Headland
Agrochemicals for more information.
Mixing:

Shake the container well before opening and use. Fill the spraytank with at least half the required amount of water and begin
agitation. Add the required amount of Headland Boron 15%
slowly to the tank, maintaining agitation. Add the rest of the
water and apply without delay. Do not allow the diluted
mixture to stand idle without agitation.
Thoroughly clean the sprayer after use.
