I would like to implement the use of a powerful software designed in monitoring the current
performance of various manufacturing units. This will ensure an efficient usage of time for
observing senior executives when it comes to analysis of reports and making conclusions for
planning and control. With this software, senior executives will no longer experience hardships
in monitoring the units performance.
b. Considering that the company already has CBIS installed, will you contemplate
complete overhaul of the systems or add functionalities of the existing systems? Justify your
line of action.
Yes. Through the use of CBIS, different kinds of systems would definitely be fixed. For example,
the usage of a systematized database, another kind of CBIS, would ensure an organized
collection of data gathered. Another CBIS would be a capable computer network that would
allow sharing of resources and information to other businesses with the help of
telecommunications and the internet. These kinds of CBIS would add functionalities to the
existing systems of this company.
c. Justify the requirement of a Chief Information Officer (CIO) in the context of the
given case.
CIOs leadership capabilities, business insight and strategic perspectives are some of the primary
requirements. It is now quite common for CIOs to be appointed from the business side of the
organization, especially if they have project management skills. In this particular case, resource
management is definitely important as you are trying to monitor the performance of each unit.
This involves the use of resources when manufacturing the products.

Not true. Digital systems can actually save time, money and update the service primarily because

and reduce the risks.

Situation 1
First we have to stop the financial transaction because of showing error. As soon as possible, we
have to find out the solution of error. Software should update and monitor regularly like routine
check system. Always keep the record manually and store data as a backup.
Situation 2
Ambulance service should keep backup software which will be automatically run if its shows
any problem with main software. That means if main software make any problem than backup
software will take over the main software. Also, communication system should be updated for
the ambulance service as per call capacity also monitor and check regularly its working
smoothly.
Situation 3
Because its new software so they should prepare about this kind of disaster. They should arrange
some way to give support the subscriber for the installation period which can be taken from the
other company or third party.

be plugged?
The security loopholes are: (1) SystemX transmitted all information by email but few computers
they had not changed their default e-mail passwords which were in the username, (2) Its a big
security loophole for the company, (3) Maximum computer dont have updated anti-virus, (4)
Local mail sever was open but it was running which is risky.
We can plug these situations by taking following action: (1) David should arrange to update all
the anti-virus software, (2) They should take necessary step to change all e-mail passwords
which were not change yet and also take appropriate step about the server.

In dealing with information security, the importance of security budget is highlighted because of
security issues. First of all, the reasonableness of the funds available to protect information is a
concept that management takes for granted. Another factor to be assessed is the contingency of
the investment. This criterion relates to the value of information, which varies over time with
variations in the market, company complexity, business strategy, business drivers, the use of
products, and services related to business.

Yes, any kinds of businesses can develop and maintain such a portal. Every business needs a
website today, but a static web site is not much better than posting a sign with hopes that
someone will see it and follow-up in finding you. With todays technology, even the
smallest business can easily obtain a dynamic, business class web site or portal, improving sales
and customer satisfaction.
