ModuleAir air cooled condenser

Overview
ModuleAir is a modular A-frame SRC air cooled condenser
(ACC) design featuring factory assembled structural
components, duct, and modular heat exchanger bundles.
With construction savings of up to 25% versus conventional
A-frame ACC designs, construction time can be reduced by
several months for large power plants. ModuleAir can also
acheive lower steam turbine back pressure and increase
power production at low ambient air temperatures.

Primary Benefits
Construction saving of up to 25% when compared to
a standard A-frame design
less site welding
reduced structural steel weight
reduced duct weight
fewer heat exchanger bundles
Shorter, safer construction time
Enhanced annual average power plant output
Reduced visual impact
lower height
smaller footprint

11 meters

Benefit Detail
The classic standard A-frame ACC modules typically
are made up of 10 to 14 fin tube bundles approximately
11 meters in length

Construction Advantages

Standard heat exchanger fin tube bundles

with shorter tube length
Factory assembled fin tube bundles including
steam manifold and condensate headers
eliminates site welding of bundles to
tube sheets
Factory assembly of fin tube bundles sized for
container transport

integrated steam header and condensate
manifold eliminates field tube sheet welding
full bundles including steam manifold and
condensate header, factory tested underwater
to insure weld integrity

final fin tube bundle assembly at grade and
lifted and set as a unit
Integrated fan bridge, plenum and bundle
structures
Factory assembled steel trusses and structural
parts sized for container transport

Reduced structural steel weight

Steam duct weight reduced by up to 25%
Fewer number of fin tube bundles
Close to 50% reduction of of steel parts
assembled on site
Reduced steam duct site welding site
welding of bundle/tube sheet not required
Fewer number of foundations
Improved delivery logistics
Shorter construction time
Fewer lifting operations
Efficient, safer construction
