- Absorption of oral drug is
enhanced by food
Tablets maybe crushed, if
absolutely necessary, for
patients who cant swallow
tablets. Tablets maybe
dissolved in small amounts
of apple, orange, or grape
juice or chocolate milk.
However, the drug has a
bitter taste that is difficult
to mask, even with food

impairement from
volume depletion or at
risk of bleeding.

CNS: drowsiness,
sedation,
dizziness,
headache.

-Correct hypovolemia
before giving ketorolac.

-Contraindicated as
prophylactic analgesic
before major surgery
or intraoperatively

CV: edema,
hypertension,
palpitations
arrhythmias.
GI: nausea,
dyspepsia, GI
pain, diarrhea,
peptic ulceration,
vomiting,
constipation,
flatulence,
stomatitis.
Hematologic:
decreased
platelet edhesion,

-Alert: the maximum


combined duration of
parenteral & oral
therapy is 5 days.
-Dont give drug
epidurally or
intrathecally because of
alcohol content.
-Carefully observe
patient with
coagulopathies and
those taking
anticoagulants. Drug
inhibit platelet
aggregation and can
prolong bleeding time.
This effect disappears

when hemostasis is
critical; and in patients
currently receiving
aspirin, an NSAID, or
probenecid.
