February 30
There has been racism happening lately in Maycomb, Alabama. Especially during this time
of the Great Depression. I have been leaked that there has been raping happening in this town
and they accused Tom Robinson of doing so. Tom Robinson was accused of raping Mayella
Ewell, Bob Ewells daughter. Im usually never concerned about anything, but this case has been
irritating me for a long time.
March 5
I examined the bruises on Mayella Ewell , she was beat up pretty well, lying on the floor in
the middle of the front room. I helped her up to clean and wash her self. After she was feeling
alright, I asked her who hurt her and she said it was Tom Robinson. I asked her if he took
advantage of her and beat her like that, she said yes. Then, I went to Tom Robinsons house and
brought him back. She identified him as the one.Then, I repeatedly asked the question, why
didnt you call a doctor? Then, I started asking questions about her injuries.After that, Judge
Taylor begins his case by asking a bunch of questions. They asked Heck Tate and Bob Ewells a
lot about what happened.

They told the judge what happened, but when it was my turn I

questioned Mayella Ewell about her family and her life. I wanted to build a background image
of how her family is and

how her father treats her. Sometimes she was hesitant and Im getting annoyed . Answer my
question. How does your father treat you is he nice does he drink, and what does the children do?
Mayella Ewell started crying. Im trying to talk to her in a polite way, but she says Im bullying
her and condescending her. I continued asking her more and more questions. Mayella Ewell said
she called Tom Robinson inside so he can help her buff up a chiffarobe, and when he went inside
he got on top of me and got me around the neck saying trash and hit me again and again, while
taking advantage of me .Then, thats how I ended bruised up like how am like right now.She
continues crying and she yelled at us and termed us yellow stinkin cowards for not helping her.
March 7
Then we called in Tom Robinson. I questioned him about what happened. He told me Mayella
Ewell requested me to help her . They asked ,and you just helped her? With no pay? Tom
Robinson said he felt sorry that nobody helped her, not even the children she was always lonely.

When, Tom Robinson went in he said wheres the chillun ? Mayella Ewell replied they all went
to get ice cream. I saved up for all that just to wait till this day.Then, Mayella Ewell suddenly
kissed him and grabbed him on the waste while he was standing on the chair. While all this was
happening, Tom Robinson said he saw Bob Ewell was at the window staring.Then he said he ran.
People asked why did he run he said he was scared that he would be in trial and be here to do
what he didnt do.
AN HOUR LATER
Our father saw that we were here and told us to eat supper first .Then come back later we wont
miss anything. When, the children and the judges came back we continued our trials again. I
made a whole long speech about how everyone makes mistakes and how no one is perfect even
the president and Frankenstein, and just because some African American people makes mistakes
doesnt mean that this African American will make this same mistake.Mistakes are made by
everyone but mistakes doesnt necessarily have to be the same. I hope you all consider this and
make the right choices. This is just common sense. It doesnt even bother us being here, its just
common sense. The answer of who did it is quite obvious. The person with a left hand hit
Mayella Ewell because the injury ended up in her right face and Tom Robinsons left hand is 1
foot shorter he couldnt possibly hurt her even if hes utterly muscular and all mighty. You can
say its Bob Ewell because he signs forms with his left hand.Then, I did what I dont often do, I
took most of my clothes off and sweat. Then, took my briefcase over and mumbled something to
everyone. When everything was determined. the judges pulled out guilty guilty and guilty. Then
the judge said Jean louise your fathers passing. After that, surprisingly Calpurnia came in and
gave a letter to the judge saying something about the children missing
END OF CASE OR TRIAL
Its just the truth, I tried I knew Tom Robinson would end up guilty, but I tried. I wanted
them to know whats wrong and I guess they still dont understand. Even though if Tom
Robinson is innocent just because he is African American he would still be proven guilty. Even
if its all the Ewells fault of raping his own daughter. I mean its just the society we are stuck in
right now. The Great Depression, where nobody will understand ,and the age where everybody is
severely bigot and racist.
