The Significance of:
The Assassination of Lincoln:
The Assassination of President Abraham had great significance on the United
States. His death caused a wave of bitterness in the North against the South. This
bitterness came from the theory that the South was behind his assassination. President
Lincolns death also transferred the Presidency to Andrew Johnson. Andrew Johnson got
into quarrels with Congress, which led to the imposition of military rule in the South, and
a foredoomed attempt to rebuild Southern society as a non-racist democracy.
World War I:
World War I was significant to all countries across the globe. In Europe,
monarchical absolutism ended and helped put an end to European colonial domination.
The Germans, Austrians and Russians lost their anachronistic monarchies. In Russia,
communism came to rise. It ended with the Treaty of Versailles. Poland, Czechoslovakia,
Hungary, Yugoslavia, etc. were created in Europe. The United States was propelled to
eventual world dominance. The Ottoman Turkish Empire was destroyed which led led to
British and French intervention in the Middle East. So, as you can see, the significance of
World War II was its impact on all nations.
World War II

World War II is said to be one of the most significant world war of all time. It was
the most important turning point for all mankind. German power was a major fear among
Allied powers after World War I. The Great Depression, which was already mostly over
in America, was now worldwide. The United Nations was formed, and was a stronger
version of The League of Nations. In America, after World War II, women and African
Americans began to move towards better equality. The army was integrated soon after the
war ended.
Civil War
The Civil War was very important to the American society and specifically the
advancement of African American rights. The war it restored the Union. The goal of the
war was to restore the Union, which eventually involved emancipation to the slaves.
Reconstruction of the United States was also a very big part of the Civil War.
Reconstruction was a time period of rebuilding the southern states. The goal, aside from
rebuilding the southern states, was also to bring stability to the citizens of the south. Due
to Reconstruction, black codes erupted. Black codes was an attempt by white southerners
to maintain the ways of the south before the Civil War, which resulted in limited freedom
and rights to African Americans.

Revolutionary War
The Revolutionary War is said to be one of the most important wars of all time.
The American Revolution was the birth of the American independent state. It was also a
challenge to the old monarchies and heritage-based privilege hierarchies of the old

systems in Europe. If, in the rare event the public deemed a certain candidate unworthy,
or if a better one presented himself, that candidate could be voted down and then the line
would end and a new one would begin. It was a government by the people because it was
for the people, an idea that took long to take root across the Atlantic.
