Slash abandona definitivamente Guns N' Roses el 30 de noviembre de
1996 despus de declarar que no poda trabajar con Rose y que no le
gustaba la forma en la que los trataba a el y al resto de la banda.
En 1990 adquiere la nacionalidad estadounidense y fue visto por el
mundo entero cuando protagonizo un gran escandalo al recibir un
premio de American Music Awards, presentndose ebrio en el
escenario, ese fue su estilo y aunque es dificil de creer su fama y fans
los gano de esa manera.
Slash siempre ser recordado por ser uno de los mejores guitarristas
del grupo de Hard Rock americano Guns N' Roses, por llevar su larga
y desordenada cabellera, su sombrero de copa, su Les Paul, por el
gran amor que siente por el Jack Daniels y por tener siempre un
cigarrillo en la boca.
Slash comenz a tocar la guitarra desde muy chico, y se sinti
poderosamente influido por bandas como AC/DC, Alice Cooper, Mtorhead,
Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, y por supuesto por Jimmy Hendrix.
Entre 1994 y 1995, poca en la que Guns N Roses entr en un receso,
Slash fund su propio proyecto paralelo, una banda llamada Slashs
Snakepit.

Segn se sabe, el nombre del grupo surgi a raz de que los msicos se
reunan a tocar en la casa de Slash, quien como buen aficionado a las
serpientes, posea gran cantidad de estos animales, y todos decan que el
lugar pareca una cueva de serpientes.
Adems, se sabe que el guitarrista quera llamar a su banda slo "Snakepit",
pero la compaa discogrfica insisti en que llevara el nombre del msico
para impulsar las ventas.
