The COVER Letter

February 2015

Board Report
Hello Friends,
There has been a major change in the CI Family concerning Casa de Fe (CdF) In Ecuador and
you may have heard snippets of information about it. Briefly, here is what has transpired.
Casa de Fe

Praise

Heather Matthews,
Estelle and Julia
Barnett and Kathryn
Goodloe are transitioning to long-term!
We are planning
CrossTraining.

For our newest

missionary, Kathryn
Goodloe in Honduras

Renee Kusler has completed her Masters in

Public Health

The CI board asked Patti Sue Arnold to take a sabbatical and enter into an in-residence
counseling program in California. We asked her to allow us to lead her through a process of
healing and to lean on us as her spiritual guide during recovery.
We also asked the Ecuadorian board of Casa de Fe to step up and take the initiative to care
for the children in Patti Sue's absence. They agreed and have done this. However, Patti Sue
did not agree. She wanted to remain president but CI could not agree. Upon request of the
CI board, Patti Sue has resigned and is now an independent missionary. ACCI of Rock Hill,
S.C. has taken over donations for CdF operational funds.
This past year has been excruciatingly painful for our CdF missionaries, our Board members
and for all of us here at the home office. Nevertheless, our love for Patti Sue is unfailing and
we hope only the best for her ministry. But, we must move on.

Prayer

Summit
There is also a change in Summit plansJuly 6-11. Jim Wilder, author of Joy Starts Here, is
no longer coming. We still want you to read the book and we hope that he can come another time. We just confirmed Stephen Venable, from ACTS/Every Home for Christ in Colorado Springs, to be our main speaker. He will bring Luke Wood to lead worship. Many of us
here at CI and CI-HOP have benefited from their ministries for years and we are looking forward to hearing from them!

All in the family

Greetings from Wilmore! Here is whats happened since the July board meeting...all who were
serving at Casa de Fe have either come home or are changing their ministry affiliation in Ecuador.
Kelcy Gallagher
(long-term) returned to
Alaska in early December
and has been praying about
which ministry to work with
when she returns to
Ecuador. Please pray for a
clear word of direction from
the Lord as she is hoping to
return in March.

Anna Leubecker
(short-term) returned to
the States in November
just a bit earlier than her
1-year commitment. She
came to CI for about a
week before heading home
for the holidays where she
is preparing for a double
wedding in June.

Both Kelcy and Anna were with us here at CI for about a week of prayer, counsel, debriefing
and ministry. It was so good to have them and we continue to pray for the Lords clear
direction for them.

Amanda Samrani as she

battles cancer and keeps
up with ministry in
South Sudan

Matt and
Christy Hayes
(short-term) are
now with Reach
Beyond (formerly
HCJB) in Shell,
Ecuador. Matt is
working in the
office with community development, participating
in evangelistic outreaches and traveling into
the jungle to work on water projects alongside
other Reach Beyond missionaries. We look
forward to seeing them at the Summit.

Caitlin Nyby
(short-term)
spent about
5 months in
Ecuador. She
returned to
Montana in
December and
is working as a substitute teacher in a
school near her home. It is her hope
to return to Ecuador and teach this
fall. Again, prayers appreciated.

Alison Bowen
(short-term) has
remained on
staff with
Casa de Fe until
early April. She
committed to a year in Ecuador and is
seeking the Lord about where He
would have her serve until the end of
her term in June.

HONDURAS

Estelle and Julia Barnett (short-term, transitioning to long-term) have been serving
at Hospital Loma de Luz, El Camino school and the Sanctuary Childrens home for many
years. They have applied to transition to long-term and will be here for the Summit.

Kathryn Goodloe (short-term, transitioning to long-term) has been in

Honduras for a year serving as a house mom at the Sanctuary house and
assisting in the El Camino school. She transitioned to CI when she realized
that she wanted to stay on long-term. Though she made a valiant attempt to
be here for our January board meeting, bridge construction in Honduras
precluded her making the necessary connections to be here. We were able
to Skype interview and sort of meet her that way. We look forward to a
face-to-face meeting at the Summit!

SIGNIFICANT CHANGES
Renee Kusler (long-term) received
a Masters in Public Health in
Developing Countries in London.
In early 2014, she spent some
time brushing up on medical
French and then traveled to Burundi
and Nicaragua to observe and learn
how others were implementing this
training. After 7 years in Honduras,
she has officially joined and is serving
long-term with AMOS Health and
Hope in Nicaragua.

SAVE THE DATE!

Amanda Samrani (long-term) is in

Spokane, WA and has begun treatment for metastatic breast cancer.
Please keep her regularly in your
prayers. She will continue to supervise Wings of Healing in South Sudan.

Summit July 6-10, 2015

We are busily preparing for your arrival and are praying for a week of relaxing, refreshing, teaching, ministry, worship, prayer, fun and fellowship! Be watching for emails from me as we get closer
to the event! We are so looking forward to seeing ALL of you!!
Ok, thats about it!

Blessings to you all,

a missions organization, fueled by prayer and worship,
