A. Rationale

: This lesson is designed for not more than 10 students, and using
Communicative Language Teaching method, Task Based Learning
Teaching, and Multiple Intelligence Approaches. Some techniques
like ask them to arrange pieces of text into the correct order and
make them own ending of story will be used in this instruction. The
students will be engaged to comprehend a recount text. By using the
approaches, methods, and techniques mentioned above, I expect that
the students will be able to improve their English reading skill.

B. Goal

: XI Grade EFL Students will be able to demonstrate their reading


comprehension ability by doing reading puzzles and reading aloud.

C. Objectives

: By the end of the lesson:


XI Grade EFL students will be able to arranged the mixed pieces
of text into correct order through reading and discussion with 90
% accuracy
XI Grade EFL students will be able to improved their reading
skill through reading aloud and reading puzzle with 85 %
accuracy

- Opening the lesson


Then the teacher opens the lesson by greeting the students:
T: Hi, Good morning students
Ss:

Hi, Good morning, sir/mom

T:

How are you this morning? Good?

Ss:

Good/fine/very well (varies)

The teacher then introduces the material they will learn by


saying:
T: This morning, within 10 minutes, we will discuss about
daily activities.
(Then the teacher showing a pictures about daily routine) here,
I have pictures somenes daily routine.
We can see , in the morning after he wake up, he take a
shower and get dressed, then he have breakfast and go to
work and etc.
T : okay, how about you students what are activities you do in
the morning ?
S : I wake up at 6 oclock, and take a shower and , take a
breakfast and go to school (depends on the students)
T : great. Thank you. For our lesson today, we have a reading
puzzles, I have a text for you that I have mixed and cut it
into pieces and you have arrange them.

T: Okay class, now, I want you to make some groups. Every
group consist of 5 students. (the teacher divide some group
for discusiing).
The teacher distribute a text that has mixed into some pieces.
T: students, work with your grup. Read and arrange that pieces
of text into correct order..
now you can start discuss with your group. I give you 3
minutes to work with it.
Then students work with their group to arranged the text
while the teacher goes around the class to make sure that
every group has the correct order. After 3 minutes the teacher
explains that actually the end of the story is missing :
T : okay class, have you finished ? actually If you read the
whole of text, youll find the end of this story is missing,. I
want you to make your own ending of story. So what the end
might be. It depends on you. Ill give 2 minutes to work out
with your group.
After finished, the teacher ask every group to read their own
ending of story. After that the students decide what the ending
they like best

The teacher is ready to close the lesson due to the time and
asks students whether they have question or not.
T: Ok, students, we are run out of time now. Do you have any
question?
Ss: (silent), no, sir/mom
T: No questions? Great, Ill see you next time, Bye
Ss: See you sir/momBye!

My unlucky day
I had a terrible day yesterday. First, I woke up an hour late because my alarm clock didnt go off.
Then, I was such an hurry that I burned my hand when I was making breakfast. After breakfast, I got
dressed so quickly that I forgot to wear socks.
Next, I ran out of the house trying to get the 9:30 bus, but of course I missed it. I wanted to take a
taxi, but I didnt have enough money.
Finally, I walked the three miles to my school only to discover that it was Sunday! I hope I never
have a day as the one I had yesterday.
