in house magazine:
Baker Atlas Kuwait recently completed a successful POLARISSM service for
its main client. The POLARIS service was run and processed efficiently,
acquiring excellent data after resolving issues that had previously hampered
deployment of the service. The client was impressed with the Baker Atlas
crew’s teamwork and the cooperation between field personnel, Geoscience and
the client’s own personnel. Due to the success of this job and the quality of the
data, the client has requested Baker Atlas accelerate the start of the next
operation and has allocated new work to Baker Atlas that was originally
intended for the competition. Kuwait and Qatar District Manager Emad Al-
Ajmi was very impressed with the delivery of Baker Atlas services on this job,
specifically the teamwork and coordination between Geoscience and field
personnel which was a big part of the success. Thanks go out to the Kuwait
employees who made this job a success including Engineers Ashraf Al-
Ansari, David Soans, Charl Marais and Arafat Saleh, Operators Mohammed
Ali, Mohammed Rabaha, Mishal Al-Muhanna and Kamel Droubi, along with
Geoscientist Lynda Memiche, Reservoir Engineer Anup Hunnur and
Geoscience Manager Uli Herz. Special thanks go to Kuwait Sales Coordinator
Richard Soans for his tireless work with the client and serving as the liaison
between all parties involved with the operation.
4. A success story from “This Week @ Baker Hughes: May 5, 2009” weekly in
house magazine:
Baker Atlas Kuwait completed a three-well campaign for a local oil company,
which has led to Baker Atlas being awarded three additional wells to be
completed by the end of Q2 2009. Crews ran the POLARISSM service in all
three horizontal wells, and the information enabled the client to redesign their
completion and optimize production. After delivering positive results in 2008,
this latest success has positioned the POLARIS service as a must-have from the
client’s perspective, and Baker Atlas is now considered its preferred vendor for
another six-to-eight wells expected before the end of the year. Congratulations
go to the following Kuwait staff: Engineers Ashraf Al Ansari, David Soans,
Charl Marais and Arafat Saleh, and Operators Mohammed Ali, Mishal Al-
Muhanna, Oswald D’Souza, Valentino Carvalho, Mohammad Rabaha, Kamel
Droubi and Mahamud Shire. Thanks also go to Geoscientist Lynda Memiche
and Geoscience Manager Uli Herz, who both participated in the processing the
data, Karima Nasri for the pressure build-up analysis, as well as Sefer Coskun,
Tushar Patil and a number of Houston staff, who delivered the final product to
the client in a timely manner.
