A company is making tow products A and B.

Plant of the company can operate 48 hours per
week. Production of product A will require
2 howsfunit and production of product B will
require 3 hours/unit. Eachunit of product A will
contribute Rs. 40 to profits while product B will
contribute Rs.80 per unit to profits. The marketing
department, after extensive research, has
determined that a maximum of 15 units of
product A and 10 units of product B can be sold
each week. Formulate a linear programming
model to determine the optimal production mix
of both products that will maximrzeprofits. Solve
the above problem using the graphic method.

A job consists of three work elements and all are

performed by the same operator. An analyst
conducted work sampling to determine the
standard time for the job. The duration of the
study is two shifts each with 400 minutes of
effective time. The details of observations are
summarized in the following table. The total
number of acceptableunits produced during the
study period is 150units. Determine the standard
time by assuming allowance of 10%.
