1.4 Limitations of the report

Research work is very much comprehensive. It is an accumulation of both information and creative
thinking. It required great effort and sound planning to make this report. It is true that we got help from
many responsible people. But still we faced some problems. As we are really new in this field and it is
our first report; we felt the lack of experience in every stage of our work. But we tried our level best to
overcome this. On top of that our topic was about business communication barriers; it is a very
comprehensive topic in todays digital world. But in this sector we found some new concept as well. In
this respect there may be some lacking in the report because of our knowledge limitation. We tried to
write the report in a sequential way. All errors are totally unintentional. At the end we are very happy to
present this report to the readers and its success will depend on the positive response of the readers.

Chapter 2

Communication is the exchange of information between two or more parties. In this case one party
transmits message to another using oral/written/hints etc. as a medium or any other perceivable
means. Here the sender of the message is called communicator and to whom the message is sent is
called the receiver or communicate. For effective communication there must be two way flow of
information. That is the communicator will send message to the receiver will have to give due
response and replay to the sender. Therefore, communication is a process of transmitting ideas,
information, facts, thoughts, opinions, etc from the sender to receiver with a view to sharing mutual
understanding to stimulate action for accomplishing organizational goals

Importance of communication
Effective communication is required at various levels and for various aspects in an organization such
as For manager employee relations:
Effective communication of information and decision is an essential component for managementemployee relations. The manager cannot get the work done from employees unless they are
communicated effectively of what he wants to be done? Chances of misunderstanding and
misrepresentation can be minimized with proper communication system.
For motivation and employee morale:
Communication is also a basic tool for motivation, which can improve morale of the employees in
an organization. Inappropriate or faulty communication among employees or between manager and
his subordinates is the major cause of conflict and low morale at work. Manager should clarify to
employees about what is to be done, how well they doing and what are can be done for better
performance to improve their motivation.
For increasing productivity:
With effective communication, one can maintain a good human relation in the organization and by
encouraging ideas or suggestions from employees or workers and implementing them whenever
possible, one can also increase production at low cost.

For employees:
It is through the communication that employees submit their work reports, comments, grievances
and suggestions to their seniors or management. Organization should have effective and speedy
communication policy and procedures to avoid delays, misunderstandings, confusion or distortions
of facts and to establish harmony among all the concerned people and departments.

Chapter 3

Types of communication barriers

There are many different factors that can create barriers to effective
communication.

Language barriers
Language barriers occur when people do not speak the same language, or do
not have the same level of ability in a language. However, barriers can also occur
when people are speaking the same language. Sometimes barriers occur when
we use inappropriate levels of language (too formal or informal) or we use jargon
or slang which is not understood by one or more of the people communicating.

Often the situation in which the conversation is taking place, and whether or
not people have prior experience of the matter being discussed, can also
contribute to such barriers being formed.
