0Executive Summary
The history of Algeria takes place in the fertile coastal plain of North Africa, which is often
called the Maghreb (or Maghrib). North Africa served as a transit region for people moving
towards Europe or the Middle East, thus, the region's inhabitants have been influenced by
populations from other areas. Out of this mix developed the Berber people, whose language
and culture, although pushed from coastal areas by conquering and
colonizing Carthaginians, Romans, and Byzantines, dominated most of the land until the
spread of Islam and the coming of the Arabs.

2.0Body of Proposal
2.1History of Algeria
The Evidence of the early human occupation of Algeria is demonstrated by the discovery of 1.8
million year old Oldowan stone tools found at Ain Hanech in 1992. In the year 1954 fossilized
Homo erectus bones were discovered by C. Arambourg at Tern fine
old. The Neolithic civilization ( marked by animal domestication and subsistence of agriculture)
had developed in the Saharan and Mediterranean Maghrib between 6000 and 2000 BC. In the
year 4000 BC indigenous people of north Africa( known as Berbers by Romans) had
influence the people of Algeria following the colonization of Phonician, Roman , Vandal ,
Byzantine , Arab, Turkish , and French invaders.
In the 8th and 11th centuries Islam religion start to influence changes in social and
economic relation , establish rich culture and provide a powerful idiom of Political
Discourse and organization in the North Africa. The last invaders of Algeria which is
French rulers start to take place in July 5 1830-1962. The war of Algeria independence
begin on November 1 1954 by the National Libertion Front army which are consider as
brutal and long . The war came to end in 1962 and French invaders declared Algerian
independence on July 5.
