Methodology

1. Empty buckets were weighed.

2. Samples were collected and weighed.
3. The buckets mass were subtracted from the samples weights and recorded as
wet mass.
4. Samples were filtered, dried in the middlings oven and recorded as dry mass.
5. Cone and quartered and two opposite halves (named as A and B) were taken to
be prepared,
6. The two halves were riffled until less or equal to 100g of mass
7. Wet screening was performed with -38m sieve and dried in the oven
8. The dry mass was recorded
9. Dry screening of the same sample (two halves) was performed using the stack of
sieves 38 to 2360m.
10. Particles on each sieve were weighed to perform PSD and %Moisture analysis

I was involved in the Multotec sampling campaign that took place

around September , we did sampling around the primary mills and
the secondary mill section, this was a major project for me this
semester because it was time consuming and needed a more
effort and determination, we did mass balance across the points
from which feeds the mills to which is discharged by the mills , as
ill be showing using the flow diagrams during the course of the
project report. The samples were cut at the time interval of 30
minutes per 8cuts, t=0, t=30 and t=60 we did it this way in other
to can identify the changes of the stability of the plant in that
hour. Densities were also noted during the sampling campaign

In all those sampling points, I decided to do a mini project across

a cross the primary dewatering cyclone at t=30 , mass balancing
and the cyclones operability itself to see how it classifies its sizes
to the primary mills
