DOST INCENTIVE FOR GRANTED PATENTS/ UTILITY MODEL REGISTRATION

The cash incentive is given in recognition of the efforts of DOST technology generators
and researchers whose technologies have been granted patent or utility model
registration by the Intellectual Property Office Philippines including patented DOSTfunded/assisted technologies.
Criteria for Evaluation

The invention patent and utility model registration must have been granted by the
Intellectual Property Office Philippines (IPOPhil) from January 2012 up to
December 2014.

Application for the cash incentive covers all inventions and utility models that
include new and useful machines, devices, gadgets, products or processes not
contrary to public order, morals, public health and welfare.

Guidelines
1. The cash incentive is open to all DOST researchers and technologists that have
been granted patents/utility model registration for their inventions starting
January 2012 up to December 2014.
2. Application forms must be submitted to the National Academy of Science and
Technology (NAST). For invention/utility model owned by a group, all members
of the group must sign the application form. The main applicant who will submit
the application form is considered as recipient of the check for the cash incentive
award.
3. A photocopy of the patent documents should be submitted together with the
application form.
4. Sixty thousand pesos (P60,000) will be given as cash incentive to qualified
technologist/researcher with granted invention patent. Thirty thousand pesos
(P30,000) will be given to qualified researchers with utility model registration
accompanied with Registrability Report for utility model issued by the IPOPhil..
5. Any fraudulent information provided will be a ground for disqualification or
cancellation of the incentive.
