Position Description
Position Title: Media Intern
Date: March 2015
Department: Media & Measurement
Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Media Supervisor; Associate Media Director
SUMMARY: Under the guidance of the Media Supervisor, this internship
position is responsible for providing detailed assistance and execution of the
media plans & buys, projects, billing maintenance, reporting and mediarelated programs for designated clients. The Media Interns will blend a
balance of administrative and media planning/buying functions. The position
interacts primarily with the integrated client teams internally and with media
representatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Develops understanding of assigned client business verticals, objectives


and strategies.
Assists planning team throughout E=MC2 planning process including
research, evaluations and recommendations of media vehicles and tactics.
Develop understanding of Velocity and how to apply the focus areas to job
function.
Reviews and evaluates media proposals as submitted, helping team with
POVs as needed.
Depending on client assignment, will be expected to work across all
media, including Broadcast, Print, OOH, Online and Mobile.
Should develop understanding of research tools and systems, including
IMS, MRI, Scarborough, Nielsen, Arbitron, ComScore, Media Tools,
Doubleclick, Google Analytics, etc.
For any online responsibilities, will be expected to assist in reporting,
optimization (creative and ad placement) and analysis/ROI of all plans.
Assists with securing and facilitating added-value as part of plan
negotiations achieving client and department objectives, as well as
providing appropriate recaps.
Updates all media flowcharts, budget & invoice reconciliations, and plans
as necessary.
Assists with media authorizations and contracts, including proper
documentation of all approvals, signed paperwork and revised documents.
Responsible for developing creative grids with proper media specifications
for account and creative teams, as well as assisting in external trafficking
needs.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs other work-related duties as assigned.


Reinforces R&R Velocity principles and continually implements this
strategy into clients overall communications plan.
Understands and abides by the agencys business practices and
philosophies as well as understands R&Rs policies and procedures.
Participates in R&Rs media training program and other training where
assigned.

Maintains accurate daily time sheets.


Maintains an appropriate appearance and demeanor with clients and in
other professional environments.
Must be conscientious.
Must be self-motivated.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Currently pursing or have received a Bachelors degree in advertising or
related field or equivalent experience. Strong oral and written
communication skills. Must have effective interpersonal skills and be
computer literate.

EMPLOYMENT TERMS:
The position is open until filled, with an immediate start date
Compensation: $10 per hour for approximately 29 hours per week
Length of internship and work schedule/hours will be determined at time of
selection
