About the Association :


The Association of Chartered Accountants of Nepal
(ACAN) was formed in 2034 B.S as a Voluntary
professional organization with an initial membership
of 15 Nepali Chartered Accountants. It is an
autonomous, non profitable and non-governmental
organization. It was formed with a view to promote
the highest accounting, auditing and ethical
standards in the country and to build capacity of
members and accounting professionals.
ACAN organizes workshops, seminars and
conferences in Nepal through which accounting
knowledge can be disseminated. It works for the
globalization of accounting concepts and
information by discussing them in various forums of
members and other concerned stakeholders. ACAN
makes representation to the government in matters
related to accounting profession in the country on
demand basis. ACAN supports the government with
constructive suggestion on demand towards the
formulation and revision of legislation in regards to
economics, commerce, trade, accounting, taxation,
auditing etc.
ACAN plays the role of developing, protecting and
promoting the accounting profession by making the
members and the practicing accountants
understand the responsibility towards the
importance of the accounting profession. Its aim is
to makes its members united and to protect their
interest. It also provides high level professional
trainings, workshops, seminars etc. ACAN also
organizes various refreshment and welfare
programs for its members.
To obtain the membership of ACAN one should have
qualified the chartered Accountancy examination
from the institutes recognized by the ACAN,
completed articleship training and be a Nepali
citizen.
ACAN is governed by the executive committee
consisting of President, Vice President, General
secretary ,Treasurer and 6 executive members along
with immediate past president.

About the Workshop :


The workshop has been designed to provide a perspective on First-time Adoption of Nepal Financial Reporting Standards in Nepalese Context. Apart from
the comprehensive theoretical aspect, this workshop will sharpen the expertise and excellence of the participants through multiple case studies across
the industries and service sector. Experts having in-depth knowledge and
expertise in providing IFRS Convergence Services in Middle East, India and
Nepal will take the session in the workshop.
