Bauer media group


Bauer Media Group owns titles such as
Kerrang!, Q and Mojo. These magazines
are rather popular with there reader base. They
are also well known from there quaility, informability and interest. Beuer doesnt own any
electronic based music magazines so my
product Upper cut could be a great asset. This
would also benefit my magazine as it'd gain the
reputation that comes with the Bauer logo, it
would gain attention from readers who are
familiar with the brand making them more likely
to read it.

Bauer Media Group is a large European-based media
company, it's head quarters in Hamburg, Germany that
manages a portfolio of more than 600 magazines, over 400
digital products and 50 radio and TV stations around the world
and was founded in 1875.

Q is a magazine that focuses on indie, rock and alternative. The


Q music brand has expanded to Radio and Television. Q also
holds annual music awards in the UK, known as Q Awards.
Kerrang! is a brand that specialises in Rock Music. It originally
began as a magazine that expanded with Kerrang Radio. A
Kerrang TV channel also exists.

Kerrang!
Kerrang! is a UK-based magazine devoted to rock music.
It was first published on 6 June 1981. It was founded by
Alan Lewis and it's current editor is James McMahon.

In the early 2000s it became the best-selling British music


newspaper. It is also currently the biggest Rock and roll
magazine that focuses purely on it.
The age range of Karrang is 15-24. It has 45.3% female
readers and 54.7% male readers.

Q is a UK based music magazine, it's first issue was in


October 1986. It was founded by Mark Ellen and David
Hepworth.

Q is known for it's production and higher standards of


photography and printing.
The age range for Q is also 15-24. There readers ratio is
31.7% females to 68.3% males.

Reasoning
I think the Bauer media group would be the best option for my
product as:

They are well known: Bauer is known for it's mulitipl, high quality
and highly popular magazines, this would mean my product
would already gain interest from readers of there other
magazines.
Readership: Bauer's readership tends to be with people of the
ages 15-24, this is around the age of my target audience, also
it's readers seem to be primarily male, the same as my target
audience.
Other opportunists: Many of Bauers popular magazines have
websites made for them. Kerrnge! Also has a popular radio and
TV channel. Q has it's own awards show and albums This would
be a good opportunity for my product to be advertised.
