Original Passport as an ID document. Please bring
the same document you registered with.
Candidates will not be allowed to take the test

without the Original Valid Passport and no

transfer or refund is permitted. Qataris can
bring either their Original Valid Passport or
National ID. Any other form of ID is not
accepted.

IELTS Test Venue: The venue for the IELTS test is Al Ahnaf Bin Qais
Independent School, West Bay Lagoon, Doha, Qatar. Please go to this
site http://goo.gl/vftyCZ to view the map. Please report at 07:45 am for the
test. Late arrivals will not be allowed to take the test and their test fees will be
forfeited.
Speaking Test Update: The Speaking Test can be held on the test day as
well as 7 days before or 7 days after the test date. We will notify the
candidates in case their speaking test is scheduled on days other than the
test date.
Hand Held Metal Detector Policy: As per new IELTS policy, all candidates
are required to be scanned at the venue by hand held metal detectors to
mitigate the risk of candidates carrying Mobile Phones, Bluetooth Devices or
any kind of Electronic Devices in the test venues as these devices can
interfere in the proper administration of the test. Kindly co-operate with us.
British Council Qatar IELTS Refund & Transfer Policy
Candidates who request a postponement or cancellation of their test
within 5 weeks of the test date will be charged the full fee unless they
are able to provide appropriate medical evidence to support their
request. Medical evidence must be provided no later than 5 days
after the test date.Administration fee of QAR 250.00 will be deducted
for every refund & QAR 225.00 will be charged for every transfer.

If the candidate requests for a postponement or cancellation because

of bereavement of a close family member or hardship/trauma victim
of crime, victim of a traffic accident, exemptions can be made
provided valid evidence is presented.
Additional TRF Request Update:
We are unable to process additional TRFs request made on the Online
Registration System at the moment. Please contact Customer Service if you
need additional TRFs. The processing time may take upto 5 working
days.
Up to five copies of a TRF can be sent only to Recognising Organisations
(Colleges, Universities and Immigration Authorities) at no extra charge but an
additional fee of QR 65/- is applicable per copy after six weeks of the test
date. TRFs cannot be sent to agent. If you want the TRF to be sent to other
organisations (HR and training department in corporates), the request will be
processed after verification with the relevant organisation.
P.S: From now onwards we will not be accepting addidtional TRF
applications for Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection
(DIBP) as per the recent change in Australian Privacy Legislation.
Special Consideration Requests:
Candidates requiring special arrangements due to temporary, permanent or
long-term disability, such as hearing/sight impairment, dyslexia or speech
impediment; or short-term difficulties such as broken arm must give three
months notice to the British Council Examinations Services so that the
appropriate guidance and approval can be taken from Special Circumstance
unit at Cambridge ESOL.

The British Council holds no liability for the theft or loss of any personal
property on the IELTS Test Day.
Should candidates choose to bring personal belongings on the Test Day, the
candidates, not The British Council, are responsible for ensuring that their
belongings are secured.
IELTS Identity Authentication Management System:
The British Council has implemented an IELTS Identity Authentication
Management System which captures each candidate's image, finger print
and signature for candidate identity verification purposes on test days.
This will include:
Having your photograph taken. You will be required to temporarily
remove any covering from your face. Any candidate who refuses to
have a photograph taken will not be permitted to sit the test and will
not be entitled to a refund. The photograph taken by the test centre
will appear on your Test Report Form.

Providing a sample of your signature.

Having your finger scan taken.

To register for the IELTS Test in Qatar you should do the following:
Step 1: Search for the available test dates and venues from the left panel.
Step 2: Check availability of the test date and make a suitable selection by
pressing Apply button.
Step 3: Accept the IELTS Terms and Conditions after you have chosen a
test date and center.
Step 4: Fill in the IELTS online candidate registration form after accepting
the terms and conditions.
Step 5: Upload your Identity Document (Qataris: National ID/Passport and
non-Qataris: Passport only) Please note the ID document can only be
uploaded in the image format (.jpg, .bmp, .jpeg, .gif, .tif). Alternatively you
can submit them manually at our British Council office.
Step 6: Either pay online or come to British Council office to make the
payment. In case if you want to pay manually at British Council, please make
sure the payment is made within 3 days of your booking unless otherwise
youre booking will be automatically cancelled.
Step 7: Check your application details before you submit the application.
Step 8: Submit your application by clicking on the Apply Now or using the
Pay Now option if you are paying online. You will then receive an email
containing details about your test booking. (Please note that if your uploaded
ID is not accepted you will receive an e-mail to re-submit your ID and that
has to be done within 24 hours of receiving the e-mail)
Step 9: Once your payment & ID documents have been received and
checked by us, a confirmation email will be sent to you containing all the
details about your test venue and complete instructions regarding your test.

materials
