Title:-To Prepare problem definition for Ariline reservtion system

Aim:- To Prepare problem definition, objective, scope for Ariline reservtion system
Problem Definition:-

The definition of our problem lies in manual system and a fully automated
system.
Manual system : The system is very time consuming and lazy. This system
is more prone to
errors and sometimes the approach to various problems is unstructured.
Technical system : With the advent of latest technology if we do not update
our system then
our business result in losses gradually with time. The technical systems
contains the tools of latest
trend i.e. computers printers, fax, Internet etc. The systems with this
technology are very fast,
accurate, user-friendly and reliable.
.
Need of Ariline reservtion system:A few factors that directs us to develop a new system are given below -:
1) Faster System

2)
3)
4)
5)

Accuracy
Reliability
Informative
Reservations and cancellations from any where to any place
Objective:

Manual work has to be reduced.

Get accuracy.
Result to be received very quickly.
It uses concept of user friendliness.
It provides using of multiple applications at a time.
Increase security, speed, storing and accuracy.
Customer services can not only be satisfied but also enhanced to the extent that one
can obtain or cancel a reservation from any branch for any route at any given time.
To speed up the operation.
Managing and maintaining data becomes easier.
Provide convenience to travelers.
It decreases manpower and high cost.

SCOPE :This software provides options for viewing

different flights available with different timings for a
particular date and provides customers with the
facility to book a ticket, modify or cancel a
particular reservation but it does not provide the
customers with details of cost of the ticket and it

routine and consumes the most precious time. This AIRLINE RESERVATION SYSTEM has been
an attempt to help the user to minimize his workload along with minimizing the paper works and
saving of time. The system has been developed in a way to make it very user friendly. It provides
an on-line message and an error detection and error messages every time the user needs. Any
person having a little bit of window based can run this system without any pain.Almost all the
difficulties of manual reservation have been removed by this system. Ti wind up let me welcome
all the suggestions and other improvements, which the system needs so that it covers all the
needs if the user in the user way.

Title:-To Prepare problem definition for Railway reservation system

Aim:-To Prepare problem definition,objective,scope for

Railway reservation

system.
Problem definition:-Railway passengers frequently need to know abouttheir ticket reservation
status, ticket availability ona particular train or for a place, train arrival ordeparture details,
special trains etc.. Customerinformation centers at the railway stations areunable to serve such
queries at peak periods.

The number of the reservation counters availableto the passengers and customers are very
less.

On most of the reservation systems there are longqueues, so it takes a long time for any
individual tobook the ticket.

As now there are no call centers facilities available to solve the queries of the passengers.
Need Of Railway reservation system:- Need of this system is to describe the railway
reservation system which provides the train timing details, reservation, billing and
cancellation on various types of reservation namely,
Confirm Reservation for confirm Seat.
Reservation against Cancellation.
Waiting list Reservation.
Online Reservation.
Tatkal Reservation.

Objectives: Complete end to end system for all the activities related to railway reservation system.
Supports the full life cycle of ticket reservation, seat allocation, and ticket cancellation. Reschedule the
cancel seat to unconfirmed passenger.
It is a scalable system.

Has a clearly arranged and user-friendly interface

Easy to use and minimum data entry, all important details is mater driven and provide in drop down list
to make fast operation and avoid mistake.
Automatic fare calculation from stage master, in new updation of fare in stage master will automatically
reflect in all new reservation.
All important details can be updated by front end master module only.
Retrieval of forgotten passwords.
Integrated security features.

Scope:Passenger Revenue Enhancement.

Improved and Optimized service

Conclusion:-Our project is only the gist of the online reservation system.

Due to time constraints it was not possible to incorporate all the
concepts related to the topic.
So the program created is just an instance of the Original Online Railway Reservation System.
