4 STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
Mini incinerator is a new product produced by the company. A market survey is an attempt to
analyze the acceptance level of the product and to collect the opinion from the public about the
product. The study titled A STUDY ON THE ACCEPTANCE LEVEL OF THE CUSTOMERS
TOWARDS

1.5 OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY


Primary objective
A study on the acceptance level of the customers
Secondary objectives
o To collect customers opinion about the mini incinerator.
o To determine customer demand towards mini incinerator.
1.6 SCOPE OF THE PROJECT
This study is intended to assess the acceptance level of the customer towards the mini
incinerator. There are different factors affecting the customer acceptance criteria. The various
factors are income of the consumer, taste and preference, culture, family, society, etc... Hence the
scope of the study is limited to find out the customers' opinion related to the mini incinerator.
This study also reveals the opinion and views of its customers that will ultimately help in
designing the companys policies and find out the areas of contingencies which will eventually
enable it to have a better foothold in the market with optimum customer satisfaction.

1.7 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY


The basic concept of research methodology refers to the way in which companies
conduct their research and how they collect the data they need. Whenever a company or
organization needs to investigate a particular area of their business dealings, they need to adopt
the most suitable research methodology for the job.

The research methodology followed in conducting the study includes the specifications of
research design, sample design, questionnaire design, data collection and statistical tools used for
analyzing the collected data.

TYPE OF RESEARCH
The research methodology used here is descriptive research and exploratory
research, of which the data analysis and interpretation is done through the percentage bar
diagram.

1.7.1 RESEARCH DESIGN


Research design is an arrangement of condition for the collection and analysis
of data in a manner that aim to combine relevance to the research purpose. It indicates a plan of
action to be carried out in a connection with a proposed research work. The research design
applied here is descriptive and analytical.
1.7.2 SAMPLE DESIGN AND SAMPLE SIZE
The sample design used to the simple random sampling the selection of sample size was arrived
at Palakkad, after taking into consider the total size for the research was fixed 50.
1.7.3 POPULATION
The data were collected from the public, in this case population is infinite.
1.7.4 SOURCE OF DATA
There are broadly two types of data available to a researcher. They are;
(a) Primary data
(b) Secondary data
Primary data:

It includes using different primary data collection tools such as personal


interview, questionnaires and telephone surveys. For the present study, primary data were
collected by survey method using questionnaires.
Secondary data:
It is the information that already exists for another purpose. This refers to all those
data which are collected for some earlier research work. The secondary data for this work was
obtained form company profile company magazines, website, newspapers, internet, text books,
reports, company brochures and from other promotional materials.
1.7.5 DATA ANALYSIS TOOLS
Simple percentage analysis and percentage bar diagram.
1.8 LIMITATION OF THE STUDY

Unwillingness and inability of the respondents to provide information is a limitation.


With respect to certain questions to customer performance, the respondents were not

genuine in their responds.


Some responses were not ready to fill the questionnaire and some of them not ready to

come out openly.


Also the sample size of 50 may not truly represent the whole population.
