Vehicle2Grid: the Solar & Electrical mobility revolution conference

Amsterdam 30 & 31 March 2015

Urban renewable energy & info-mobility remake the neighbourhood in 2025

Urban energy transition is in development, with a key role for local renewables and electric vehicles (EV).
Experiences demonstrate required changes. To be prepared for this transition, decisions today determine where
we are tomorrow. This conference presents and discusses, key elements as EV, local renewable energy, the
electricity grid and intelligence steered by ICT, which enforce each other in the energy transition.
On top of that is the energy policy, influencing the markets, products and services. Practical experiences show
the possibilities of the actual state of technology, the challenge is to pave the way and dare to forecast. What
does the road towards the sustainable city ecosystem look like, what are the most urgent steps to make and
what are the no-regret measures?

Breakout sessions (choose one):

EV, or sustainable info-mobility

Chaired by Vito, Carlo Mol (Be)
Vision and envisaged activities of EV
manufacturers overview of state of the
art in 2015. Potential of EV for energy
services. Current activities and
challenger and opportunities until 20202025.

The grid for sun & mobility in 2025.

Chaired by DTU, Peter Bach (Dk)
Smart applications, matching local energy
offer & demand at household,
neighbourhood and city level, are key for
grid resilience. Implementing more
intelligence into the grid instead of
hardware.

Coffee break
Agenda & ICT for energy management
Chaired By Green IT Amsterdam, Jaak
Vlasveld (NL)
Intelligent ICT empowered to shift
energy consumption in line with energy
production. Including detailed energy
prosumption and forecasting. Do we
allow our agenda to manage our energy
provision and related mobility range of
the electric vehicle? ICT facilitates your
digital and real life.

Operational examples, lessons learned and

valuable mistakes.
Chaired by DNV-GL, Petra de Boer (NL)
Different initiatives exist in Europe
combining local renewable energy and
electric mobility to optimise the integration
of renewables. Real bi-directional examples
are challenged to present experiences,
pitfalls and best practices. How can these
experiences cross-fertilise each other and
what is up scaling potential?

Energy rules or rules for energy & The business case challenge
Chaired by Gerard van Baar (NL)
The implementation of electric vehicles and V2G practices requires changes in terms of
regulations and policies. Designing a socially desirable and economically viable
infrastructure poses a great challenge for policy makers.
Anticipating on fluctuating energy cost, improved battery performance and
economies of scale enables V2G practices to make a valid business case. But what is
needed to make this happen? And how likely is it that its going to happen?
