For the starting unit,

string 3 beads, pass

other thread back
through first bead.
Notice that threads
emerge either on the
left or right side of
the triangle, not
through the point.

For convenience,
envision the triangle
rotated 90 degrees and
consider the base to
be on the vertical side.
In subsequent units,
the base will thus be
the first bead strung
or passed through. The
threads will emerge
from the uppermost
side of the triangle.

Right thread passes back through last bead

Left thread strings 2 beads OR (if adding a

row alongside another) passes through 1
adjacent bead & strings 1

LEFT THREAD DOES THE WORK:

or

Left thread passes back through last bead

Right thread strings 2 beads OR (if adding a

row alongside another) passes through 1
adjacent bead & strings 1

RIGHT THREAD DOES THE WORK:

or

A sequence of identical
units forms a curve

Alternate right and

left units to create a
vertical row

Subsequent Units are either right- or left-handed:

on each thread

or

Right thread passes back thru last Bead

Left thread strings Bead, SB, Bead OR passes through Bead, strings SB, Bead

String 1 Seed Bead (SB) on each thread

LEFT THREAD DOES THE WORK (Left-handed weave):

Notice how the seed beads function simply as thread covers or joints
between the larger beads, and are not passed through again.

Left thread passes back through last Bead

Right thread strings Bead, SB, Bead OR passes through Bead, strings SB, Bead

String 1 Seed Bead (SB) on each thread

RIGHT THREAD DOES THE WORK (Right-handed weave):

2. String Bead, SB, Bead. Other

thread passes back though last bead

For the starting unit, string 6 beads: Seed Bead (SB), Bead, SB, Bead, SB, Bead. The other thread end
passes back through last bead. Center the triangle in the middle of thread. For subsequent units:

Seed Beads at the Points (Vertices)

Vs.

or

Note also that when stringing seed beads at the triangle

points, when using a single needle some of the seed
beads will also have to be passed through again.

Note that unlike the two-thread method, where the

choice for making a subsequent unit is either a lefthanded or a right-handed weave, when using a single
needle there are 4 possible choices.

Subsequent units are worked either clockwise or

counterclockwise. String 2 beads (or, if adding a row
alongside another, pass through 1 & string 1), then pass
needle around through beads until it emerges from the
bead on the top side of the triangle.

For the starting unit, string 3 beads, pass through first

2 beads again. Notice that the thread emerges from a
bead on either on the left or right side of the triangle,
not through the point.

For convenience, envision the triangle rotated 90 degrees and

consider the base to be on the side. At the end of any unit,
the thread will emerge from the bead on the uppermost side of
the triangle.
