Administration, Dr. Qaisar Abbas, visited China from November 18 to
November 29, 2013. This visit proved to be a good success and fruitful
meetings were held at Beijing, Chengdu and Pakistan Study Center in China
to explore new avenues of academic and industrial linkage between two
countries.
The objectives set forth for the Pak-China Business Forum are as under:
Future Perspective
The forum activities were attended by major Chinese and Pakistani
companies, small and medium enterprises, entrepreneurs, universities,
and research & development organizations. This forum not only provides
the opportunity of commercialization of research based products and
processes of the participating organizations but also promotes and
strengthen relationships between Pakistan and Chinese business sector.
Such types of forums encourage young entrepreneurs to bring their ideas
and help to boost the economy.
Many MoUs were signed between various national and international
organizations. These MoUs are the foundation for further collaborations
and will hopefully break the ice between the industry and academia.
This years event yielded a number of positive results. Together with big
companies and entrepreneurs, small, home-based industries participated and
exhibited their products as well. Many owners of such businesses, who had
no outlets in the local markets, exhibited their crafts at the exhibition. These
forums proved to be a success during which dozens of Chinese and Pakistani
companies exhibited their products.
It brought academia, industry and customers from both countries on one
platform. These stakeholders established contacts with each other which will
help in stimulating two-way relations especially in economic, trade, industry
and energy sectors. The visiting Chinese delegates also gained a first-hand
knowledge of Pakistan in addition to accomplishing a number of successful
agreements with their equivalents. It is hoped that such efforts are
sustained.
