FUNDAMENTALS OF LAW
Law - a binding custom or practice of a community; a rule of conduct or action prescribed or formally
recognized as binding or enforced by controlling authority. [Source: Merriam-Webster]

Characteristics of Law
- tells us what shall or what shall not be done
- just or morally satisfactory
- sentiment of justice
- obligatory
- promulgated by legitimate authority
- for the common observance and benefit of the people
- intended by man to serve man

SOURCES OF LAW
Constitution
- a set of fundamental principles or established precedents according to which
a state or other organization is governed.
Legislation
- (or "statutory law") is law which has been promulgated (or "enacted") by a
legislature or other governing body or the process of making it.
Executive orders/ Administrative orders
- Issued by the President of the Philippines.
Jurisprudence/ Judicial Decisions
- study and theory of law.
